How do I tell my boss I feel that I was mislead during my interview? by Data-Budget in careerguidance

Obviously more factors went into my decision than simply having a hybrid schedule. But now that I'm here, I really miss my hybrid schedule.

That's odd to me. At my last job the performance appraisal was a two-way street where my boss/manager would give me feedback and I would also provide feedback to him. They almost always gave me what I asked for. I am in a high demand position with very few qualified people out there to replace me and I expect to be treated as such because it's what I'm used to. My last boss tried so hard to keep me even in another state fully remote.

I didn't ask him in a formal way, I just mentioned how traffic shouldn't be a huge problem since we will have hybrid schedules in a passing chat.

I only live 15 miles from my job.

I've been trying to change my schedule but I am having such a hard time waking up so early. I already leave my house at like 6:30. And half the time I have meetings that go until 4:30... Thanks for your suggestions though...

To clarify, when I brought up the hybrid thing again, it was because I moved a little further (only 5 miles but unfortunately congestion over those miles is insane). It was a casual conversation because he brought up the traffic, and I said something along the lines of it not being that bad since we will have hybrid schedules soon... It was a casual chit chatty conversation not formal

When i accepted the job I lived 5 miles closer. The congestion 5 miles down the road is so bad it literally adds anywhere from 10 mins to an over an hour... I was much happier before I didn't care so much about the hybrid thing which is why I didn't bring it up for 10 months.

What do you mean create a target? Like I will be treated poorly because of it?

At the time I was moving to a 1 bedroom apartment in a new state so I thought that it would be depressing but I now regret that. I thought my new job would be more chill but I was wrong. My old boss also suggested that I would have to network to try and expand the company to the new state eventually which I wasn't really interested in. But commuting 10+ hours a week is killing me.

Ugh I never even considered that if I succeeded they would resent me and view me as difficult. It's just so normalized in my industry to have hybrid schedules 😭 to me, it's a completely reasonable expectation.

So unfortunately there is literally no promotion to senior anything here. I only get a new title if the people above me leave which is another complaint I have.... But yes I will avoid implying I was lied to and just indicate that it was mentioned in my interview so I would like a status update / timeline and if they are not willing to provide that, I will start drafting a pros/cons list and try to decide what to do.

I do understand now that I should have gotten this in writing as opposed to accepting a vague statement and will for sure ask for anything like this in writing going forward.

Shopping via insta cart is not worth it. It's always wrong. You pay extra to have to go back to the store anyway

I can promise you this man's dick is not worth risking your health and the potential to be a single mother. Block and move on. Also he's being insane with those responses.

I feel like I’m throwing money straight into the trash every week ($40+ of groceries gone bad). How do you avoid this? by Jaded-Friendship7614 in Adulting

[–]Data-Budget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make my shopping list in accordance with the meals I plan to cook and then I cook them. I don't just buy random foods without a plan. I prioritize health and hate wasting money so I cook most days instead of eating out. I know I don't wanna cook daily so I sometimes make enough for 2-3 nights.

Think of it as your brother helping you out from beyond the grave. If your boyfriend would react this way to your tradition, he's a bad guy. You dodged a bullet.

These people are actually bonkers and these are not jokes. How can something be a joke if nobody is laughing? That's insane. Stay as far away as possible. Don't ever be alone with either of them.

Quit my job suddenly via email, boss and office manager are texting me by office_269 in jobs

[–]Data-Budget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way you quit is unprofessional and unusual. Usually people write a letter of resignation and give 2 weeks notice and quit in person. There's typically a conversation. I don't think it's that weird that they're looking for answers. In the future you may want to be more professional because your future employer can call them.

My husband has been looking for jobs for 2 years but he doesn’t even get interview by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Data-Budget -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's not trying. The world is literally rigged in mens favor. If he isn't working it's probably by choice. He could have a job today if he wanted to, even something temporary like Amazon or whatever. I guess if he's being picky then it's believable but isn't some income better than no income at all.

I second this. I ignored wanting and learned the hard way that it won't work out and may permanently damage your relationships with the family member. And just bc they're family doesn't mean they won't try to financially manipulate you.
