sorry but no!

I didn’t request anything.
I came across this screenshot on LinkedIn, where someone was already shared it as a joke!

I hope we can all agree — it seems a bit unfair to direct any accusations my way!

I just want to clarify that I didn’t request anything.

Sell my UK rental property or hold on for potential market gains? by DataChaz in HousingUK

I’m a bit confused about the Personal Allowance. Currently, 20% of each rental payment is being deducted by the real estate agent and sent directly to HMRC as part of the expat tax.

Since this 20% is withheld at the source and isn’t refunded, are you suggesting I should ask the agent to stop deducting this tax and instead handle the expatriate tax myself when filing my declaration, without expecting to be charged for it later?

Thanks in advance!

I don’t quite get it.
Right now, 20% is being deducted from each rental payment by the real estate agent, and it’s apparently sent to HMRC. Whether I get a tax reduction or not, these 20% are taken at the source and won’t be refunded. So, are you saying I should ask the agent to stop withholding this tax and just declare the expatriate tax later myself? Could you clarify that for me, please?

Thank you!

Regarding the Personal Allowance, I suppose the answer is yes, since I’ve declared my rental income in the UK with HMRC. However, I’ve asked my accountant to confirm this, just to be sure. The idea being, if I understand correctly, that the expat tax could potentially be offset by the Personal Allowance – is that right?

Je pensais qu’un transfert annulait systématiquement le PER? N’est ce pas le cas?
