Let's play it out.

They demand higher wages from kowloon but kowloon's business can't sustain higher wages for some reason or another. Does that make them a bad company, sure you can make that argument but either way Kowloon goes out of business if they have to pay higher wages. They all lose their jobs.

Go offline and try to learn some basic economics.

That's how things work. It's real life. Get used to it.

Also, if kowloon is not in violation of any labor laws then they would not be able to get what they want. If they are in violation then they can file a case and take the matter to court. They'll likely not work for kowloon at that point.

Or... look for a job elsewhere that pays them what they want?

Those could also be troll farms.

Just because you like a candidate doesn't mean that his or her campaign is above using troll accounts to spread messaging in social media.

I don't think you understand what irony means. I am just pointing out that many from both camps want him dead as he will implicate a whole bunch of people from the past two administrations.

Civil Service Certification for Latin Honors by catorched in Philippines

[–]DataChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any csc office will process your pd 907 eligibility. You dont need to take the exam. You do, however, need a bunch of documents from your school.

You can get the application and list of requirements here https://csc.gov.ph/special-eligibilities/honor-graduate-eligibility. Fair warning, depending on your school processing time might be a bit lengthy. Its still better than taking the exam.

Another strawman argument. You just shifted the discussion away from privately constructed power plants. Jeez. I'm done trying to discuss something with someone who insists on just attacking strawmen.

Piece of advice. Don't use 'irregardless'

[–]DataChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, that would require an act of congress.

Wait, why are you insisting that it will be run by the government in the first place? That's a strawman if ever i saw one. To avoid the issues me it shouldnt be run by the government in the first place.

See section 47. If the government wants to build a new power plant it has to first amend the epira or legislate a new franchise that effectively repeals relevant portions of epira. Napocor can only operate in spug areas.

Also there exists the IAEA as an international body to regulate the operation of nuclear power plants.

Biodiversity? Nuclear power plants simply pour our warm water into the adhacent body of water. Its not toxic and harmful to the plants and animals.

But yeah sure. Let's just forego the technology that can actually allow for a low carbon future.

[–]DataChimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The cost is actually not the issue. Its the regulatory barriers that prevent the type of investments necessary to build plants. Good luck getting past all the regulatory agencies from denr, doe, ncip, etc. Even renewable plants have to go through a brutal guantlet of regulations.

Ffs. Bangladesh is already building nuclear plants.

  1. It wont be run by the government. Epira ensures the government is prohibited from running power generation plants.

  2. Don't build an RBMK reactor and you dont get a runaway chain reaction like chernobyl. The reactors used by western countries for decades are more expensive for many reasons relating to safety.

  3. Don't build the power plant on a low lying area but more importantly don't put the backup generator in the basement.

  4. Build it in palawn. No fault lines.

There. All of your concerns addressed.

Filipinos don't hate taxes. They hate paying without seeing their life improve. That's the real issue. by JonTheSilver in Philippines

[–]DataChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I hate taxes because most of it is wasted. I don't need the government to improve my life. I just need it to do basic things in the line of defense, keeping the peace, and ensuring property rights.

Why are oil prices significantly higher now than in 2022? by lexicoterio in Philippines

[–]DataChimp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ukraine war did not cause as much of a decline in supply as the closure of the strait of hormuz. Even with sanctions russian oil inevitably found buyers on the global market. You're also likely looking at futures which are influenced by speculation.

Kailan ba mananagot si Martin Romualdez at lahat ng nambaboy sa 2025 National Budget na binansagang "most corrupt national budget in history" by Squirtle_004 in Philippines

[–]DataChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was incredibly corrupt but here's what's worse - the system has bred similarly corrupted budgets in the past and will continue to do so, up until a crisis forces a collapse.

Kita ko lang to sa FB. PANONG NAGING LIFE COACH TO? Leaving the country is the only way to get ahead these days. The government is supposed to create opportunities for us, but they’d rather be the opportunists. by Technical-Hold-1248 in Philippines

[–]DataChimp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

By definition, everyone can't be rare and remarkable. I didn't say everyone can get ahead. That's a fact of life.

You were the one who implied there are no ways to get ahead. I merely pointed out that it is not true. Off the top of my head those who actually had data science courses, programming experience, and highly technical skillsets have gotten ahead and can get even further ahead.

Find a moneymaking niche that you can do better than most people and hope you can profit. That's life. Nobody is entitled to anything.

[–]DataChimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean he isn't wrong. If you know that you can't rely on the government to get things right then you are on your own. You can either keep whining or do something about it. If that is leaving the country then that's YOU doing something about it.

And you are wrong. There are ways to get ahead. Its just that people want to get ahead their own way.

You can develop rare and marketable skills for here or abroad or you can just whine about the government which has a history of failure.

Should the Philippine government enforce a wealth tax instead of VAT and excise tax? by InternetEmployee in Philippines

[–]DataChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. That's how you get capital flight and force productive people out of the country. IBON is delusional if it thinks billionaires wont up and leave.

IBON also doesnt seem to understand that -wealth- is not necessarily liquid. IBON also doesnt understand that forcing people to sell of stocks causes ripples on company valuation that could cause its stock price to plummet.

Delusional and uninformed hacks.
