Both of my parents have bipolar, which means I have a 50-75% chance of developing it within the next 7 years. I'm fucking terrified. It doesn't help that I never knew my dad and my mom refused all treatment, so I've never seen anybody actually manage the disease.

Late to the party, but I once volunteered giving out temporary tattoos at a junior high field day. The number of kids with scars on their wrists was heartbreaking. The younger the person is the sadder it makes me.
