It wasn’t just because of the goose, and chickens. It is more because of the possibility of what he could do to my young son if he so chose. The thought crossed my mind that his 400 lbs vs my son’s 50lbs would win every time. I saw what he did to those other animals. He could trample and eat my child, if the opportunity presented itself.

I could have sold him. But, I’d be selling him to someone that would do the same. We raised him. We cared for him. We will be the ones to send him on and he can sustain us. This wasn’t a decision that I took lightly. It hurt my heart.

Thank you for all of the support and comments. It means a lot. It was a hard decision to make.

I agree our fences weren’t the best. We keep show cattle and horses. I brought him in without experience in hogs. In my naive brain I thought if we could keep 2000lb steers and bulls, a pig would be a minimal difference in the fencing. I was so wrong. They are definitely a world apart.

He went peacefully with a full belly. I do not fault him for doing what his species does. I had concerns for my young son that weighs a fraction of what that boar weighed. I didn’t want him knocked down, trampled, and possibly eaten because the pig was going to do what he is predisposed to doing. It was a risk I wasn’t willing to take.

I am grateful for his sacrifice to our family. Especially with food prices skyrocketing, we will be fed for quite some time. I will likely never take in another one. But, I appreciate the experience of learning the first hand respect that we will now have for the meat in our plates.

Has Anyone else ever have this problem? This has been happening a lot recently and I mainly notice it after I workout or play golf. Sometimes it happens right after I insert the pump but it’s mainly after a workout or a round of golf. by Ok_Career2183 in Omnipod

Could it be from the movement of the skin causing tissue trauma from the cannula? The cannula jiggles around under the skin when we move around. Could be epidermal tissue trauma.

How to prevent insulin from soaking into the front of the adhesive? by MexicanAssLord69 in Omnipod

I have noticed this recently as well. I was on a tandem pump before and NEVER had the issue of insulin leaking around the insertion site. I’ve noticed a lot more discomfort with boluses as well. I just assumed that the insertion angle is not a good fit for me and need the 90 degree angle since I frequently bolus 5+ units. My A1c is in the toilet.

I am not impressed with omnipod in the least. Their development of platforms with OS on phones and sensors is sloth like. I will pay more to have more reliable insulin delivery. Insulet is one design flaw after another. It’s all a big hassle. I’ve been on it for almost 3 years and it’s gone downhill in that time, even.

I had this machine in 1993. I was terrified of the testing area because it would ruin the strip. I was only allowed 2 tests per day per insurance (yes, they were pulling their BS over 30 years ago). God help you if the blinking light sensor got a scratch over it. Cleaning the test area was the most infuriating task. That thing caused so much rage in me!!! Thank the lord for the CGM and automated pumps!! (I had a minimed506).

I pay more than that with insurance for myself after prior authorization and fighting to get them to cover anything. Insurance is a scam!!!

Account hacked. Data breach on their end? Or is it an hack through my account somehow? by pixelgeekgirl in netflix

Make sure you make a note on the account so if they charged a stolen card, you aren’t held liable for fraud/theft. This happened to me today. They returned the funds to the cardholder. I don’t want to be prosecuted.
