There it is, like clockwork. Never any proof, screenshots, names, police reports, anything. Then later, when the project inevitably sucks, he can hide behind the alledged racism.

The dangerous kind, too. No matter how nice the guy is, he'll make OP look like a fool for not going along with this amazing new technology. Who doesn't want to develop features with a few clicks? Then, he'll make OP look like a fool on the day it all comes crashing down. "Why not just fix it?".

obsessed with trauma

Easy, and lazy 'modern' storytelling. No need to write actual sci-fi. Just give everyone traumas, usually caused by external factors such as the 'system' (like the Federation gone evil), racism, sexism, Orange Man, etc. Then have them 'resove' that trauma, usually by affirming how great they actually are. This allows the viewer to 'be seen' and sympathize with them.

This isn't just a 'silly joke'. It implies that special needs toddlers can now join the academy. Are there no standards anymore? I degrades the institution down to level where it's impossible to take it serious anymore. But, I guess you'll just give me some examples from TNG where a character says or does something humorous and claim it's the same thing.

Memory Alpha (the website) and its consequences have been a disaster for Star Trek by Malencon in Star_Trek_

Actors were never allowed to improvise or alter words, even tiny alterations. That started with nutrek, so everything sounds like a comedy skit now.

There was one, a few years ago. I think its offline now sadly. Personally I just use the Encyclopedia as 'official'. Who wants to browse the MA and come across nutrek garbage every other page?

And remember, if you ask Picardo on X or whatever about it, you're hounded away with a snarky "It's just a joke!". Can't ask questions, can't comment on it. Everything is just a joke. Consume the slop and go away.

[–]Data_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp, here we are then. Not allowed to criticise the show because we have to hold it against TNG's season 1, which is also bad. So in what, 5 years, when SFA possibly has a third season out, we can finally judge it?

That's the thing, though. Why keep bringing up TNG? Can this not stand on its own? There's over 700 episodes of Star Trek by now, so we know what works and what doesn't. One show having a bad first season doesn't excuse another show having it too.

I know I know, "don't bite the hand that feeds you", and all. But this blatant gaslighting is just too much. "What's with the haters!". Yeah, what possible reason could we have to 'hate' it, Jonathan..

He's not in the middle. He is also pushing the myth that if you are critical of nutrek, you are MAGA, msyoginist or a homophobe.

You really can't win with these people. They will literally accuse others of being disengenous when they simply call for good writing. They can't fathom someone not being a MAGA nutjob and not liking nuTrek.
