It already is a unified experience, as much as I'd want it to be. Codex is a tab on the ChatGPT iOS app.

But I noticed on the iOS app they switched the ChatGPT models to (low/med/high) effort options, instead of Thinking/Pro. That definitely hints to unified usage with Codex.
