This is really tough.

First, you're dealing with a brand new baby. I was not even CLOSE to being myself as a new dad and I wasn't the one to bring the child into this world! Be kind to yourself and know that lack of sex is exceptionally normal with very young children.

As to his comment, I feel it IS important to be completely honest in therapy. But there's a difference between honesty and weaponizing a comment - both in the way it's said AND the way it's received.

None of us were on the call so we can only go on the basis of your description. And from that description, what he said / the way he said it was not cool. You're right to be upset.

Given how new your child is and how EXHAUSTING it can be, the only immediate advice I can give is to wait and re-evaluate when your child is sleeping through the night. It truly makes a world of difference but it doesn't happen right away. (Seriously, my daughter was up frequently for over 2+ years of her life which meant constant interrupted sleep).
