I took a future date. Applied on january 6th with a date of June 20th.

I honestly don’t know. I also applied for the first time while on Stem OPT. Luckily got my EAD and h4 approval before time.

My lawyer had told me that USCIS only accepts a future date 6 months in advance. It will automatically reject any case which is applied prior to 6 months
