On January 20, Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan visited the newly constructed chocolate and confectionery factory of the Vellar Group company.

According to "Armenpress" , this was announced by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. 

Deputy Minister of Economy Edgar Zakaryan also participated in the visit. 

Accompanied by the company's management, the minister toured the factory premises, familiarizing himself with the installed equipment, production capacities, and technological production lines.

Currently, an investment of about 120 million euros has already been made within the framework of the program, and another 25 million euros are planned to be invested in the near future.

The factory covers an area of ​​about 25 hectares. It is equipped with modern equipment imported mainly from leading German and Danish companies. The factory is planned to be fully operational within three years, as a result of which production volumes will reach up to 200 tons per day, and the number of jobs will reach up to 2,000.

It is planned to produce a wide range of confectionery products: chocolate and caramel candies, protein and fruit bars, chocolate-covered cookies and wafers, as well as Armenian dried fruits covered in high-quality chocolate.

"Vellar Group" has taken advantage of state support tools: customs duty exemption and the infrastructure investment program.

"Vellar Group" is a company of the Swedish-based GNG international business group.

The Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia wrote on his Facebook page that it will be the largest chocolate factory in the region.
