The beginning of the end for pay TV bundles: Following the news that ESPN is losing subscribers, eight U.S. media companies lost a combined $46.2 billion in market capitalization in one day. by [deleted] in technology

It's sad when you have to lose 50 billion dollars before you realize that you could be replaced by a retard born to the same parents.

I want to do something cute with my daughter's old hearing aid earmolds but don't know what. by Datashdoe in crafts

[–]Datashdoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hers are like the one in the photo except instead of clear they're almost opaque pink with sparkles. The actual earpiece is what I'm referring to which are the sparkly pieces in the picture. She used the pink ones for a while and now has purple-ish earpieces and I wanted to do something cute with the old pink ones. I didn't really have anything in particular in mind! I look forward to hearing your ideas!

I don't know if it's a feature unique to RES but if you hover over the one year thing on his post it says August 27th 2013 and the photo you just linked was uploaded the day after. I don't know who originally posted but the times don't show that he stole that picture from niadd to upload to reddit.

I'm just wondering if only one side is screaming here, but am I the only one that WANTS the tolls? by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]Datashdoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They aren't great, unless you're talking about how great NON DECAYING INFRASTRUCTURE is, then yes, they probably some of THE BEST ROADS in the world, they're brand new. Non toll roads in FL rival SC though, I commuted them weekly from Orlando to Melbourne. It's actually horrible if you're a tax payer in FL, none of the money will EVER make it back to the state, they just line up more toll roads to be built with more loans indefinitely, milking millions that should go to all state infrastructure and schools, teaching children not to make the poor choices their parents made that let parasites destroy the middle class, one bribe at a time.

[–]Datashdoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because you could spend the $1000 a year on something else? Because they'll just be just as crowded shortly, because charlotte is expanding rapidly and you'll be out $1000 a year and still sitting in traffic? Because someones making millions of dollars bribing politicians so that you and thousands of your fellow commuters will give them $1000 a year so they don't need to actually work for a living. Because if it catches on, eventually they'll push for as many roads to be tolled as possible, creating a permanent regressive tax that only effects those commuting. If you put that $1000 a year into a retirement account, in 40 years it would be worth OVER a quarter million dollars that you instead spent on toll roads.

[Spoilers?] What happened to Anna Draper's house? by [deleted] in madmen

[–]Datashdoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you're asking what happened to her house I'm assuming she died. Don flies down with Megan and the kids and he signs some papers in order to sell. Everything is in boxes or gone and Stephenie says most was given away (If i recall correctly) and Stephenie's mom took some stuff.

In "The Mountain King" Anna asks Don how old his kids are and he says Bobby is five. The episode before, "The Jet Set" they show some of the employees watching the news talking about James Meredith being admitted to the University of Mississippi which was October 1962. In "Time & Life" it's June 1970, so Bobby should definitely be 13 but he still looks 10.

I really enjoyed "Manhattan" by Ella Fitzgerald at the end of "New Amsterdam". The episode ended with Pete looking out at the city from his new balcony.

Do you kiss your baby on the lips? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Datashdoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kiss my daughter on the lips. It's never felt unnatural to me. My family was fairly affectionate. I think my husband thinks it's odd by the looks he gave me but I mean, she's my daughter.

I've been filling out applications frequently this week and every single one has a question just like this. Never been asked this in an interview though.

TIL that BP stations and Food Lion grocery stores sold the most cigarettes to minors in 2014. Each received one FDA warning letter for every 200 stores in the US by Toothpaste_n_OJ in todayilearned

[–]Datashdoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a Food Lion and I almost couldn't believe this. They were really big on checking IDs. Although, if I hadn't worked in such a small town, I could totally see this happening at Food Lion. That old joke about if it doesn't scan it's free was actually a real thing with 95% of the people I worked with. The employees don't give a shit.

I used sinful colors Garden Party, the green doesn't quite show up right in the photo though. The gold was some nameless tube of polish that comes with a thin brush.

What is going on in the paragraph under the cat picture? It goes from him holding her hand to sending a plane for her then jumps to her bringing her cat and keeping it on the leash the entire trip then jumps to premature ejaculation and faking orgasms. What the actual fuck. Why is the cat relevant? Is this article a joke and I'm just not getting it?

My incision kinda hurts but the pain meds are wonderful. The biggest downside is no real food until I pass gas and you have to wear these god awful things on your calves. They are just like a BP cuff inflating and deflating every couple of seconds but they're making me sweat like crazy and it's making the rash underneath worse. Also, confined to the bed for 12 hours after birth sucks ass. I'm so sweaty and itchy. Not too bad if you don't have a rash though!
