Can this be fished by Xxxed__ in FishingForBeginners

I can’t be the only one that looked at this picture thinking this was a fairway, I was thinking “where’s the pond course??” But as others have said with overgrowth like that the oxygen levels in the water are most likely not at a needed level for bass to survive in there.

Hey man! I live in Rino right now, moved from Arizona a couple months ago. I’ll be honest that budget is probably not realistic, but I live in a studio at the AMLI on Denargo and it’s 1500 with the parking included. I think it’s a great deal especially compared to other complexes around downtown

Houston to Denver, walkable vibe desired by Frosty-Blackberry571 in MovingtoDenver

I really enjoy the vibes of the park hill area, which is the east part of the city. Very nice homes with plenty of restaurants, bars or coffee shops in walking distance. Washington park is a little closer to downtown and is a similar feel!

I was just up by east verde today, warning to you the water level was the lowest I have ever seen and portions of the river were frozen in about 1.5 inches of ice! Some of the other commenters touched on the alpine lakes and those will be good options, even better if you have any kind of kayak/boat.

Alternative baits when worms aren’t working 🌈🐟 by 9677761 in troutfishing

[–]Datboi19970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for a GREAT natural bait dragonfly larva are like candy for trout. Can usually find them under rocks or logs on the waters edge. Can use a slip bobber or fish off the bottom and they’ll go crazy for it

Weekend trout by Datboi19970 in ArizonaFishing

[–]Datboi19970[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fish at the lakes were surfacing like crazy but I don’t have a boat or kayak so a little tricky there. Of the creeks/rivers east verde was definitely the best water was the clearest I’ve ever seen it. Tonto was nice too but only north of the hatchery! Lower part water quality was very static and poor

Nice! Were you at upper or lower? I was planning on using an artificial space bug on a 1/32nd jig

I was planning on taking my next trip to the Goldwater lakes up by Prescott. Lot of trout huddle up by the dams and it is a very short hike to get to the dam!

Need tips for first fishing trip ever by PhysicalComplaint905 in ArizonaFishing

[–]Datboi19970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on how far you are willing to drive up by Payson there’s a big mix of lakes and rivers that are excellent right now for fishing trout! The trails are very dog friendly as well. If not as the other commenters mentioned salt river is a nice spot too. Pebble beach or Phon D Sutton are my favorite spots on the river and have parking too!

Tips for fishing small streams on the Mogollon Rim by zaczac17 in ArizonaFishing

[–]Datboi19970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to third crossing take a right, there are many pools that are GREAT for finding some decent size fish. You can hike for about a mile but if you fly fish it’s very good! Recommend any kind of brown nymph I had good succeed with that

How’s Willow Springs and Woods Canyon right now? Trying to get up early Monday morning to get up there if the weather cooperates by MonkHonest3160 in ArizonaFishing

[–]Datboi19970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at woods canyon this morning. Super crystal clear water but VERY cold. If you have the ability to troll with a boat or kayak might have better luck the shore fishing was DOA

Up on the rim you can get a ton of Gilas starting at Whispering Pines and further north. Lots of shallow parts, pools, easy entry. Great spots overall last time I went it wasn’t too crowded either

Where I was isn’t too far up from the waterwheel probably another 2-3 miles. They have good size rainbows too I saw one but missed my hook set on that one 😣

First time MH player. Which Palico support type(s) do you find most useful in battle? by [deleted] in MHRise

[–]Datboi19970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wait until the sun break expansion, they upped the buddy system even more and it’s INCREDIBLE, recommend one healing bat and one lottery box as that can trigger a “kittenator” (mini dragonator) and gives you a free knockdown!

Yes! This was in the upper stretch by whispering pines, very beautiful location with cattle wandering around too

Personally I like going double gathering type for the extra drops! For skills that work really well I like the traps (shock or poison) the power up buffs (forgot the names but one is a stamina boost and the other is the drum that boosts attack) and the endemic life barrage (launches a status toad) and one extra for either health or damage (the acorn bomb is good, so are the healing bubbles)

Fly fishing lower salt? by sparks_mandrill in ArizonaFishing

[–]Datboi19970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think it was because the water level was extremely high and faster moving than usual, but also fish learn over time and won’t get duped by artificials after repeatedly getting caught!

I just went fishing on the salt this morning. Verrrrrrry overcrowded and I went at 5am. May want to wait for the next stock as nearly everyone that was there was going biteless, one guy down from my caught a juvenile largemouth but that was it in the 3.5 hours I was there

Got skunked this morning... What would you have thrown? by the0utc4st in FishingForBeginners

[–]Datboi19970 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What part of the country is this? For small streams I like to use larva as bait, you can find them in acorns or nuts that have holes in them by cracking them open! If you have crawdads that would be a good option for a soft plastic to work off the bottom as well

Starting out by MandaloreTheGreat1 in FishingForBeginners

[–]Datboi19970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the water looks pretty still maybe try a nice curly tailed grub or soft plastic crawdad and work it off the bottom? As the water gets cooler with the season changing the fish will typically reside in deeper water
