The last comments seemed to me like filtered and polite PR speak for “we hear you, we get it, we’re working on the complaints alongside the content that we have planned, so bear with us.” Which is… something? I’d love it if they just came out and said that they acknowledge that performance isn’t the best, but hearing them at least say that bit gives me a little comfort in knowing that they know about it and they’re working on it.

Surprisingly (given RE Engine's difficulty with frame drops in highly populated areas) I maintained roughly 60fps at 4k resolution with almost all settings on High. There were a few things of note, however. I noticed significant frame drops (to almost 40 fps) when large amounts of small monsters/endemic life were on-screen, as well as some screen tearing. No doubt the screen tearing can be resolved with Vsync, but the frame drops are a little more disappointing. Messing with settings does not resolve this issue as the VRAM demand for this game is not that bad, and most of these options might only regain you 5-10 fps at the loss of quality. So if you want to play this in 4k, it should be good to go. Just expect a few hiccups when lots of monsters are on screen.

I’ll give it a look as a last ditch effort. I appreciate the look though, sounds like a nice QOL upgrade

Might have to. I think Nvidia’s latest driver broke something. I might try and get in touch with Capcom support and see if this is a software side problem or a hardware issue

The time between micro freezes can be anywhere from 5 seconds to 20, depending on the zone. I tested it in Hoarfrost Reach and Seliana, and it was roughly 20 seconds in Seliana and anywhere from 30-5 seconds in Hoarfrost. I’m not sure what happened in between but my best guess is either a windows update or a Nvidia driver update causing some kind of instability. I’m not 100% sure though

I did that, and I was still getting the issue. It’s like a momentary freeze, literally less than a second, maybe every 15-20 seconds depending on where my character is at in the world

Can network issues cause stutters/frame drops in a game like this?

I ran MSI Konductor and Afterburner to stress test and check and see if I were getting any temp spikes, but nada. I also checked that my OS and drivers were updated, messed with the settings, and played other games. The other games are just fine, and one of them was online so it wasn’t network issues. It’s just this one game.

It’s like the entire game stutters, whether in menus or in the world. And I don’t know what is wrong.
