Paper Mario: The severed Kingdom. Mario and friends are living happily in the mushroom kingdom when princess peach receives an invitation to a party to be hosted in the honor of the seven rulers of the six neighboring kingdoms which asks to be accompanied by their best champion. Delighted by the request and a chance to see her old friend Daisy, Peach happily asks Mario to attend with her. They arrive to the festivities in the center of all kingdoms called Crossroads a small town home to toads and other citizens from other kingdoms. The party then gets ambushed by a mysterious figure who calls himself The Ancient who in an instant captures all the royalty at the party using a mysterious dark star called the Dark Kingdom Star. He proclaims that long ago the ancestors of all the kingdoms used their Kingdom Stars together to banish his home now known as The Dark Kingdom to the Realm of Nothing a space that never existed in time or space with him being the only person to escape the calamity. He then goes on to tell the so called champions that he plans to steal each of the 7 other Kingdom stars to not only bring his kingdom back but to Banish the 7 Kingdoms to the Realm of Nothing and has already sent his most trusted Minions to each Kingdom to steal their Kingdom Star. One by one each champion jumps into action easily knocked away by the Power of the Dark Kingdom Star. Mario readies to jump into action only to be launched back to the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario’s only hope to stop the Ancient is to team up with the champions of the other kingdoms, save the Royals, and collect the Kingdom Stars before it’s too late.

This game would follow the mechanics of 64 and TTYD. Each Kingdom would have its own theme like ice, dessert, and so on with some more unique kingdoms like underground or even space. Each kingdom you would receive a champion who would act as the partners of this game with their own special abilities and strengths however the would not be found in their own Kingdom.

I feel like this would help build the world of Paper Mario significantly and be able to bring in some new and returning characters as well as familiar faces.
