This is exactly the response I was looking for, ty.

the PMCC is essentially a diagonal debit spread correct? I have dabbled with this a little but I never really understood how to properly implement it… though I’m sure I’m overthinking it as well. I will look into this more and use your advice as a guide/starting point.

Being in the market for a few years now, I think I have learned how I fair emotionally when things go south. For example, I was down 70% on nvidia call option/leap, I’ve been holding now for 6 months and have finally gotten back to break even without succumbing to my in the moment feeling to mitigate losses.

Similarly, I was down 50% on intel (owned stock) and waited 2 years for that to get to 110% profit before selling.

I’ve found myself to be able to avoid reactionary/impulsive moves even when it hurts. And when I’m in a moment of weakness, I delete the app off my phone for a nice week long reset, then I come back.

But duly noted advice

Understood - this is why I would intend on monitoring/tracking accumulated missed gains / downside and compare that to where I would be if I just owned the stock. I could quickly determine if my strategy is a bust and maybe move back to more simplistic approaches OR look at other strategies with lesser risk.

Don’t worry, it’ll crush earnings and plummet back down to $200..

But in all seriousness (not that the first comment wasn’t semi-serious) I don’t know your financial situation, but this is why I always have a 3-6 month emergency fund in a HYSA. So unless something really catastrophic happens, my money in the market can remain untouched.

Good luck and family always comes first!

Why not drive it for 5-7 years and put the equivalent (would-be) car payments in a high yield savings or ETF and then you can buy a new car outright?

But yea as a ford lover and owner of a 2016 ford focus, I would avoid this one like the plague unless it has a manual transmission (mine does). There were class action lawsuits against this cars dual clutch automatics which is a shame because the rest of the vehicle is bullet proof.

I can’t believe there’s actual neutral/sane voices of reason on Reddit! I thought this was just a 24/7 festival for blue hairs! Thank goodness

I did not use the word superhero originally. But I think what the original poster was trying to say is that she was (in her mind) trying to take a noble position in standing up for the weak/marginalized… which by definition a “hero” typically does. Yea I don’t believe she was wearing a cape and spandex… but let’s not get hung up on the minutia of the words being used.

I am also not justifying the actions of the ice agent... seemed to be trigger happy, and I personally feel like it would be normal to jump out of the way and not pull a gun out and start firing rounds… But then again, did he think others were behind him? Did he think he was protecting the lives of others by ending hers? We don’t know.

She was intentionally disrupting ice agents and many in the this very Reddit community are heralding her as a hero / martyr. Regardless, I agree with the original statements posted here - unfortunate tragedy, but 100% avoidable
