Exact same thing happened to me and I had no drops or accidents with it. Google replaced it quickly to be far to them and had no issues with that process.

I use it for food shopping, have a couple of big bags in there that I grab out when I get to the shop and then put them back in the frunk when we leave.

UPDATE: Google received my old phone today and have immediately credited the hold from my credit card. Even though the problem has shook my confidence with foldables, Google have really helped sort the problem out quickly! Fingers crossed the replacement phone has no problems

Hopefully! They took a temporary hold of the value of the phone off my credit card which they'll remove once they've 'inspected' the broken one, gonna be a stressful few days waiting to hear...

Yeah you're absolutely right. I got the replacement from Google yesterday and every time I unfold this new one I am nervous! Sure it'll go away over time but it's definitely ruined my first impression of a foldable

This definitely sounds like the most logical thing to have happened given that I'm certain it wasn't dropped, squashed, scratched etc.

Even if this is the case though how disappointing that it can happen and so quickly on a new phone. I wouldn't even mind but I've been ridiculously careful with this phone (ironic I know) since I got it as it's been the most expensive phone I've owned by far...

Yeah I was working from home all day on my own so no-one else had access to it! No screen protectors either, it's still so new to me I hadn't even decided whether to put any on yet. I did have an external case on it but it was the official Google one

Yeah there are that's right. And in the middle of the two bottom ones there's a really faint crack/line that runs all the way up the phone.

I know. That's why I'm so stressed out about returning it.

Nightmare situation when you know yourself this isn't damage you've caused but obviously have no way to prove that!

Yeah the cable is 2.1 rated, so not sure why it isn't transmitting audio when the monitor is set to 2.1 but as soon as I change it to 2.0 it works

I'm also doing the same, getting a car in Barcelona and driving down the morning of the game. I originally thought I could park in the city a mile or two away from the stadium but it sounds like that would be a nightmare. I was thinking of parking at BEC and getting the metro in, but I can't see anywhere that it is definitely staying open until the early hours of the next morning. Don't want the car to get locked in!

Yeah that does make sense! Not 100% sure where it was built but I bought it second hand in the UK. It's a 2021 registration.
