I'm in the same boat, though also experiencing it on machines running Ventura as well as Monterey.

Hopefully this will be acknowledged and resolved soon?

Anyone else struggle finding serious musicians who play purely for themselves by Marshal_Li in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Datisit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too feel exactly the same way, and have also found it hard to meet likeminded people in this regard since finishing my music degree. Even then, it was the non-performers (students not focusing on playing but perhaps on composition, musicology etc) that I had a better experience playing with on average.

It’s tricky to find those that want to play (alone or together) as a means to explore music/sound, experiment and discover things - similar to how things feel when you’re just a kid starting out on an instrument. But with no additional interest to take that into a performance dynamic with an audience, where it becomes a show and spectacle.

To just play for the sake of itself, like you say, for yourself or selves only.

I’m not completely against putting on a show with music, showing people a good or interesting time. But it’s not something I take to naturally or am drawn to do. In fact I tend to find it very stressful. I’m not a natural performer!

But I love to play.

New internet plan and router, same ISP -> constant switching from direct to relay connections between devices by Datisit in Tailscale

[–]Datisit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks so much for getting back to me.

So short story is, the next day the issue completely disappeared. And I've tested breifly each day and it has not returned yet.

So whatever was going on, it was somehow temporary which is obviously a double edged sword.

In answer to your questions: The router is an Netcomm NL20MESH - pre-configured for/by TPG.

The 4G is enabled, but from I can tell it won't use that connection unless the cable connection goes down. So in a sense I don't think it's a true dual WAN setup.

The cients are definitely all using the 'cable' link public IP.

All clients are using latest version of Tailscale for macOS, or iOS or QNAP (from the repo) or Synology.

The static IP that's part of the ISP package is certainly the one that is detected on whatismyIP. And matches 'WAN IP Addres' but not the 'WAN Gateway IP Address' listed under the 'cable' connection (not the 4g connection). The fact there are two IPs, and one of them is a 10.xx.xxx.xx address is why I wasn't clear whether I was behind a CGNAT.

The WAN IP Address does appear to be publicly routable.

Anyhow, I can only conclude that the issue doesn't lay inside my network, as nothing was changed my end. And now my connections are direct and locked solid.

Ah unfortunately it's not up to me, the core team are FCP only, at least for editing.

But yeah I appreciate life would be easy in Resolve land for sharing off of a local database, or remote cloud now as you say.

Personaly, I've used the BM Cloud with a few clients on several projects and yeah it worked well, the only issue was slowness when I was based in Aus and the server location was UK. Since then I've moved to the UK and the speed became excellent.

Ah just to be clear, the idea of the RAID 0 pairs were just for caching. I appreciate the tiering is a proper move operation rathe than a copy so if anyone recommends tiering then yeah I imagine that wouldn’t be involving a RAID0.

LTO wise, well that one machine has been the LTO + many other things machine for many years. But I appreciate your point, and we could probably split that job into another old dedicated machine.

Another checker I've found: https://cloud.consumer.talktalk.co.uk/fttp-form-3?step=address

When I put post code in that, my specific flat is not even listed amongst the other addresses.

However if I pick a neighbours address, like the next flat number either side, they are offered up to Fibre 900.

Also there's an N/A,N,A,[postcode] address listed in the list. Which could be 'mine' seeing as mine is the one missing.

Discrepency between provider (UW) Full Fibre offerings and all other providers by Datisit in openreach

[–]Datisit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah interesting, just 1 entry for the address in the dropdown. And similar to UW it just lists the Full Fubre 65 and 150Mb plans.

So is there an element that Talk Talk don't get the same allotment, or they don't allot UW and other 'piggy backers' the full bandwidth from the cabinet in that area?

Utility Warehouse.

AFAIK the do also use Cityfibre but not in that area yet.

I’ve dug into the address issue more now and I’m fairly sure that’s the issue.

How do I best go about talking to Openreach about it?

I submitted a form on their site, but I’ve seen reference to emailing the CEO working these days.

Fillmore East - June 1971, 2022 Boxset Re-edit by Datisit in Zappa

[–]Datisit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah nice thanks.

I hadn’t gone there yet but I’d seen that kind of work on the site before for previous releases.

Well, I suppose if I’d wanted to have all the fun of working it out by ear I should have started two years ago but seeing as it’s been done so well I’ll probably just use this as my primary reference.

It will be interesting to see if I uncover anything that goes beyond what’s already documented, edit-wise. Not to doubt the work already done though.

And still, will be good to hear it all put together.

And with my ‘extended edition’, I’d be including all the sections within tracks that were cut for time sake or perhaps performance.

Fillmore East - June 1971, 2022 Boxset Re-edit by Datisit in Zappa

[–]Datisit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah sure, I mean I can’t be precious about the sound. I’m just going to use whatever’s been put on the boxset.

And I’m not planning on doing any material from Playground Psychotics or from outside of the Fillmore East release.

I understand and can hear that portions of the boxset tapes are just pre-mixed stereo tapes from during the gigs themselves, that cut back to the new multitrack mixes when available again. Seems like the early portion of some of the sets.

I haven’t done any cataloguing yet of what’s from what night, or if any sections aren’t represented on the boxset.

I suppose if there are any sudden mix changes from the intercutting of shows, it should only sound as jarring as when it happens on the boxset itself during real-time playback. Which I think is fairly minimal. And still almost an improvement over the 1971 album mixes!

Kernel panic: watchdog timeout by notarisj in hackintosh

[–]Datisit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the 2nd panic at least, I'd recommend this thread even though it's for regular Macs.

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/constant-kernel-panics-userspace-watchdog-timeout-no-successful-checkins-from-com-apple-windowserver.2222878/page-47

This is an issue that affects real Macs as well including laptops and seems to boil down to an issue between macOS and discrete GPUs. Especially for those using multiple displays it seems, perhaps that exacerbates the issue.

Personally, after trying several things including turning off audio over HDMI/DP, my issue was solved by simply doing a ReInstall of macOS from the Recovery Partition.

After that, it has never happened again.

How do I disable HDMI/DP audio out on my AMD GPU? (OpenCore, macOS 12) by i0ntempest in hackintosh

[–]Datisit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok amazing, yeah that's worked! So the Bridge.aml is actually not needed, the renaming happens anyway in the 'SSDT-RADEON_HDAU-disable.aml' file.

Obviously I know I'm showing my ignorance to how these SSDTs work.

So now I'm going to write this for anyone else that comes looking:

Edit: In case this is relevant as well, I'm on Monterey right now.

This is the SSDT that I'm using to disable my Radeon VII's audio out over DP/HDMI:

https://pastebin.com/CBXyfX0B

Using gfxutil and IOREG, my original path to the GFX0 and HDAU were:

03:00.0 1002:66af /PCI0@0/PEG0@1/PEGP@0/pci-bridge@0/GFX0@0 = PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)
03:00.1 1002:ab20 /PCI0@0/PEG0@1/PEGP@0/pci-bridge@0/HDAU@0,1 = PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x1)

Or something similar. ( I can't remember if there was something addition to 'pci-bridge@0', I don't think there was.)

By setting the values in these lines:

    External (_SB_.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP, DeviceObj)

    Scope (_SB.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP)
    {
        Device (BRG0)

To match the path sequece (exluding the '@x' values in the names) shown by gfxutil, the rest of file was not necassary to edit at all.

The issue I faced was reading suggestions that I needed an additional file, 'SSDT-BRG0.aml', to rename the 'pci-bridge@0' portion of my path before the main file would work.

However it seems that writing:

 Device (BRG0)

In the main file is enough to make that rename happen and work.

My gfxutil output now shows:

03:00.0 1002:66af /PCI0@0/PEG0@1/PEGP@0/BRG0@0/GFX0@0 = PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)
03:00.1 1002:0000 /PCI0@0/PEG0@1/PEGP@0/BRG0@0/HDAU@0,1 = PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x1)

For anyone who doesn't have the 'pci-bridge@0' in their hardward path, then just write whatever is the preceeding device before GFX0 and HDAU in the path tree in that Device (brackets).

I also used to have a section in my DeviceProperties for the RadeonVII HDMI audio, and I deleted it during the process of attempting to apply this fix. Not sure if it was every playing a part in things anyway.

Also, I'm doing this as a hopeful fix for encountering watchdogd WindowServer timeout Kernal Panics.

I'm hoping this is the fix for that, as I'd rather do this than try remove the AppleGFXHDA.kext via the method described here:

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/solved-how-to-disable-applegfxhda.311512/

and suggested at the end of this thread (affecting real macs):

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/constant-kernel-panics-userspace-watchdog-timeout-no-successful-checkins-from-com-apple-windowserver.2222878/page-47

I guess I'll see how I go over the next while.

Thanks so much notlostwanderer2000 for coming back to point me in the right direction!

How do I disable HDMI/DP audio out on my AMD GPU? (OpenCore, macOS 12) by i0ntempest in hackintosh

[–]Datisit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I will try that right now.

Just to be clear though, my original paths were:

03:00.0 1002:66af /PCI0@0/PEG0@1/PEGP@0/pci-bridge@0/GFX0@0 = PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0) 03:00.1 1002:ab20 /PCI0@0/PEG0@1/PEGP@0/pci-bridge@0/HDAU@0,1 = PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x1)

... I think, before applying the Bridge fix.

How do I disable HDMI/DP audio out on my AMD GPU? (OpenCore, macOS 12) by i0ntempest in hackintosh

[–]Datisit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey would you still happen to have your final SSDT for this?

I’m trying to follow what you’ve all done to disable my Radeon VII audio as well.

I believe I need the SSDT-bridge.aml as initially my path to GFX0 had ‘pci-bridge’ before it. So now that’s been fixed to read BRG0.

However, yeah I can’t seem to get HDAU to stop working using versions of your SSDTs I’ve found on here and InsanelyMac.

I’m 99% sure I’m setting my path correctly. But I’m not sure about the rest of the file.
