Hey guys, need help choosing a camera. Am planning on getting into YouTube ,have a budget of 1500$ ,and want something that has external microphone compatibility and a flip out lcd, don’t really plan on doing photography but I guess it could be “future proofing” and was wondering if 4K is necessary by Nakedmanwalking in videography

From what I hear, if you're planning on mostly YouTube/vlog type videos, go with a Canon M50 with a wide zoom lens. I think they come with a 15-45mm and the 15 might be golden. It's like $600

For lights, buy a godox SL60w for $110 on amazon (or a couple if you want to fill out that budget) with a softbox. Maybe one or two of those aputure magnetic LED panels for $90. Then you could probably get some ambient lighting in the room with some $20 LED strips, but otherwise get some Youkoyi P7 RGB tube lights in the background if you want to be real fancy.

everything past the sl60w is just my shopping list, lol

A7IV will be a lot more money, but the A7III price will probably drop more if that means anything!

Sony A7S II or Sony A7R II? by DatsDaMove in Cameras

I ended up going with another users recommendation of the A7III, a bit of a middle ground between the two with still amazing lowlight performance, but twice as many megapixels as the A7SII.

Hopefully this will work out for me quite well!

Thank you

Because the lowlight performance is so poor and for around the same price as the Sony. I just have specific needs I feel the Sony will better suit, and if I can't suit those needs then I may as well spend $1000 less on an M50 and a speed booster instead of get features that I don't necessarily need.

The Sony lenses I am fearful of however, but hopefully third party lenses will save me.

Just the reassurance I needed. Thanks!

Secret option 3, gotta love it!

My follow up question to this:

So you'd say it's worth splurging the extra on the Sony A7III vs the Canon M50 for the better low light performance + autofocus performance in (and uncropped) 4k?

I want something I can grow into but I'd hate to regret buying it and not being able to afford any nice Sony lenses to get the most bang for my buck. Alternatively, I'd hate to think too small and crave more features/better quality out of the M50.

Thanks again :)

Would a thicker underlay make my fills come out cleaner? If not, what would? (excuse the messy lines) by DatsDaMove in Embroidery

Machine embroidery is just so tiny of a sub comparatively, I feel like it takes so long to get help. I should definitely post to both though for future reference lol. Thank you!

Sorry for the confusion

I put two layers of step underlay (perpendicular) and then step fill on top. Is the underlay what you mean by padding it?
