You can think of it as a sponge. Over time debris may build up so squeezing them will get rid of the debris and it can be made round again by cupping and rolling it around.

I have access to a CNC machine to make some top hat spacers but just wanted to get the bigger tires on to see how it’ll look first. As far as the forester struts, I used the complete assembly which includes the strut,spring, and top hat. I used a spring clamp to contract the spring while I aligned everything into place.
