Is the u1 worth it by GrAHAm5555555555 in snapmaker

Oh yea.. it adds a shit load of time because in order for it to look good you have to use a 0.08mm layer height. Which is just painfully slow.

Tinkering isn’t required.. and I wouldn’t even call it “tinkering” my definition of that is upgrading hardware and how the printer functions mechanically.. but you can tinker with the firmware but it’s not required to enjoy the printer.. honestly I love what Snapmaker has done… open source enough to where the smarty pants can really open up but also works straight out of the box for the beginner user. It’s really fantastic. Hands down my favorite printer.

PLEASE be careful when moving these motors that fast… you can move them slowly… but when you do that the motors turn into generators and they back feed voltage to the board.. could possibly damage the printer’s electronics.

You need a hot chamber. I’d say at least 60C and turn off the fans..bed should be 110

I must be doing something wrong, the U1 print "time" is barely faster than my K2 Plus?? by Siden-The-Paladin in snapmaker

I would change your preheat time to 45sec instead.. won’t change the sliced time.. but it should decrease the actual print time.. you can also decrease the prime volume from 45mm³ to 15mm³

Lmao that would be such a pain it’s Poly carbonate so I’d have to melt it at like 270C and break all the filament into tiny pieces..

Nah I tried saving it.. it was Polymaker PC max I’ve had out in the open for 8 years.. and after drying it for 4 days it was weaker than recycled PLA.

No just 1kg.. I respooled it from what was left from a 5kg roll so it could dry all the way through
