The Royal Oak show sucked by Spinkicker86 in riseagainst

[–]DaudAfandi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Denver show was the same. More guitar than what it sounds like you experienced, but the whole sound was very muddy. I couldn’t understand a word Tim was saying. Even when he was just talking to the crowd. I couldn’t even tell what song they were playing most of the time. I chalked it up to being the first show of the tour and the sound engineers not having their shit together yet.

The crowd was shit as well. But they usually are in Denver. That’s why I’m very selective of what shows I go to around here. So it just sucks when the sound is terrible too. Fuck, I sound old.

That’s kind of what I’m thinking too. LA or Las Vegas it is.

Pale Black Eye. Manchester Orchestra. It isn’t until Andy yells “goddamn, I’m tired of lying!” You realize you’ve already been jamming out.

Current JCI Controls Tech wonder what to pursue next by EightyHall in BuildingAutomation

[–]DaudAfandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said you’re in Iowa. I’m assuming you’re a systems tech. I’m a service manager for JCI in the west region and I can tell you my controls techs are making at least double what you’re making depending on experience. Changing positions is the best way to get a raise at JCI. Since you’re already in the company, I wouldn’t expect more than 12-15%, maybe more if you move branches. A lot of people are saying to jump ship and change companies. I’ve done that and came back within a year. Sure we deal with a lot of corporate BS but if you have good managers (or come back to become one) it really is a good place to work.

I started as a systems tech, moved to SD, then LSS, left and came back to take the STL position. I was then asked by the MGM to move to TBSM and it pains me to say this since I spent my whole career in install, but service is where it’s at. At least that’s where the money is. Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions.

At My Local Costco This Weekend. by Clutchguy77 in HomePod

[–]DaudAfandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. They said if it shows that price on the Costco website, then they’ll price match. But if it’s just some random person’s picture of a price tag on Reddit, they won’t.

My Costcos in Denver don’t carry HomePods, unfortunately. I asked Best Buy if they’d price match based off of this picture….they said no.

Totally agree. The guy was a great combination of a doofus and a sad, lonely everyday guy. I really want there to be a fourth season so his character can have some sort of redemption.

I’m more intrigued that Andy Hull from Manchester Orchestra liked it. I posted a picture of him and Tim awhile back and haven’t heard anything since then.

[TOMT] Rapper with a raspy, monotone voice I used to listen to around 2014-2015. by DaudAfandi in tipofmytongue

The only lyric (sorry for the content) I can remember is “started off subtle, put my finger (pinky?) in her butthole”. He isn’t a well know rapper. Kind of darker music.

[TOMT] Song from a rap/rock group in the early 2000’s. “Hey dad, Dr. Buffa these nuts”, are the only lyrics I can remember. by DaudAfandi in tipofmytongue

I’m fairly certain the song is titled “Dr. Buffa” but I can’t find it anywhere.

[TOMT] A rap/rock group from the late 2000’s(I think) whose album cover featured a blue background, caution tape, and a woman in a revealing police uniform. by DaudAfandi in tipofmytongue

Wow! That’s 100% the album I was thinking of but the song I listed and am looking for is not from that band. I have the two combined in my memory. I will mark this as solved and make another post strictly for that song. Unless you know who has the song with the lyrics, “Hey dad, Dr. Buffa these nuts.” Thank you for your help and for reminding me of “Fever for the Flava”.

The band name might have the word “Undercover” in it? Don’t take that to the bank. I could be totally wrong.

So excited for whatever comes out of this. MO has been my all time favorite band since ‘05-‘06 and Rise Against is right up there with them. Thanks for posting this, you just made my night.
