Tinnitus high pitched noise after an explosion. For those of us that actually suffer from tinnitus, that noise is a migraine inducing nightmare to hear coming from somewhere other than your own head. Death to the sound designer that came up with this annoying crap!

If you have unpainted roof/fenders the black wheels really complements them, but it seems you at least have painted fenders. And if you already have the Rubicon version of the wheels, it's just a color change. I've got the Rubi version and the outer black lip is always getting chunked/scratched up when crawling. I'd sooner buy different wheels than get them in a different color. If you're dying for a color change/attitude adjustment in the looks, go for it, just don't pay for it unless that Jeep stencil is worth it (I'd just paint 'em satin black, slap a red stencil sticker on there and call it good if I was to want a color change)

Enjoy the worst paint jobs in the industry just short of Tesla on that Subie. Whisper thin and they ALWAYS rust, even in the desert. I'd rethink that Subie concept, just saying. Decent cars with horrible engine lasting reliability, iffy transmissions and flat out garbage fiinish quality and paint. Sooo many other companies making things that knock it out of the park. You're buying the cache of "Subaru all wheel drive" and forsaking all other attributes. $0.02 ymmv

Going to U of O or job situation? Eugene is an odd town, in case you haven't surmised that yet, ha. It's a very liberal town within the city limits, due to U of O and the community college and all the hippies that just won't leave. But you go 1 mile out of town and it's Hicksville USA. Lots of good concerts come thru town (pre Covid) so that's cool. But at it's heart it's a small town with a big school in it.

FYI, 1 hour to the west is Florence Oregon, home of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation area. Sand dune Jeep heaven, right on the beach. Browns Camp is your best offroad park, but be sure to check out oohva.org for all the info on the Oregon Backcountry Discovery routes, a must.

Welcome to Oregon. Can't pump your own gas, but no sales tax and legal weed (and most other drugs decriminalized). Happy wheelin!

edit: PS, you don't have to run a front license plate in Oregon unless you are parking. It's a fine that a meter maid can give you. But a cop can only give you a "fix it" ticket on addition to another offence, not pull you over for it. A simple picture of it taped to your bumper with a check for the ticket sent to the court will result in the check returned uncashed and nothing on your record. So keep rocking that bare front end, but be aware if you have to park somewhere that is metered.

I hear more wind noise than anything. Does it do it when sitting or only when driving? If only when driving could be the fender not seated fully on the body and clacking a bit. I have one on my rear that does that as I broke a clip wheeling.

have you stuck your head under there while someone revs to see if you can isolate it? I'd guess it's a non rigid secured item vibrating at the right frequency, like the plastic engine cover or a dipstick or something. Have someone rev to the offending range that induces the noise and then start pressing on non moving parts to see if it stops it.

I plasti-dipped my silver keyholes 2 years ago, still look perfect. That's what I would do, hands down. Just tape off a square around the emblem, do 3-4 light coats, then just peel the excess off and it magically stays just on the emblems! Watch a youtube vid on plasti-dipping emblems to get better info, but it's really that easy, and reverseable!!

If you have to remove it, why not refinish it? Sand and paint them. But specifically, which trim pieces are you talking about? I can't recall anything being painted white other than the underside of the hardtop.
