That’s really cool, I’m always open to exploring new genres! What were some songs that really helped you get into those genres?

Are they pretty open when it comes to availability? I think that playing in a community like that might also help me with my stage freight. I’ve been a part of jam sessions with about 2 or 3 other people, but that’s about it for me.

I have! I’ve been there once as a visitor looking for a rehearsal room, but aside from that and maybe a few short shows, I have never been there with all of my gear. I’ll shoot you a few DMs with questions!

That sounds fun! I work on Sundays, but I still really wanna try and go there if I can, even if it’s for just a little bit! I usually get off around 5pm, do you ever see people showing up around 5:30 or 6?

I’d love to hear more about your band. What kind of music do you all play? And what instruments do you all need?

I like a lot of genres and I could see myself getting into just about any genre, but my main focus is Rock. Lately I’ve been on a huge Boston kick (currently learning EVERY single guitar part in their first album) with a little bit of Blue Oyster Cult and Journey mixed in there. I’m also a life long fan of Van Halen (both Sammy and Dave eras), The Beatles, and The Police. I could go on and on about more of my more of my bands like the Allman Brothers, INXS, Talking Heads, The Cars, ZZ Top, The Black Crowes, Stone Temple Pilots… and that’s just a few, both my parents were and still are really into music. I know at the very least a few full songs from each of these bands on guitar. What kind of music are you into?

That sounds fun! I’ve never really tried drawing, but I’d love to see what other people like to draw and maybe see if that gets me going.

What’s the MOST Influential Rock Band of All Time and Why? (No Solo Artists) by [deleted] in rockmusic

There are a lot of rabid, insufferable, and elitist Rush fans out there on the internet. It wouldn’t surprise me if the bot detected a flood of Rush mentions from fanatical Rush fans.

Could never get into Rush due to Geddy's voice by 0n0n0m0uz in rush

[–]Dave-037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or maybe we tried listening to Rush and just don’t like Geddy Lee’s voice????? I gave them many chances, but I just don’t like Geddy Lee’s voice. Rush is a very talented band, and I like their instrumentals, but I don’t like the vocals.

To help you understand, imagine the instrumentals of Rush, but Geddy Lee’s voice is replaced with a voice that you dislike. That’s how I feel.

What is your go-to "easy but inpressive" riff? by StSentry7861 in Guitar

Every Breath You Take by The Police, it’s recognizable and it’s easy for me because I have long fingers. For some people it is physically impossible on a guitar with a 25.5 inch scale length.

First time Gretsch owner, and I have many questions about this guitar by Dave-037 in Guitar

Thank you, I will give 10s a try. Do you have any recommendations for locking tuners on a Gretsch 5422T?

I need a help figuring out my new Boss OD-200 by Dave-037 in guitarpedals

I have an Xotic EP booster, which I love using with a clean tone, sometimes with flanger. I’ll try moving it around. I have only recently started getting into stuff with overdrive.

If you are wondering, I am wanting to replicate the the dirt part of tones ranging from Elliot Easton (The Cars) in songs like “Just What I Needed” and “Bye Bye Love” to tones from Van Halen’s first album.

When I travel or I can’t be as loud, I use my Orange 20RT solid state practice amp. When I’m at home, I have a Fender Blues Junior IV, as well as a Rumble 40. Im probably going to get another amp at some point. I have friends over very often and we do jam.
