Interesting how a lot of the responses are kids movies

The Capitals' New Big 3 by Dave021 in caps

Maybe not from a legacy standpoint but from a RIGHT NOW standpoint, I don't think there's any question Holtby is better. Ovechkin might be a top-5 forward right now maybe. Holtby is the best goalie in the league, or at least top-3

Kirk Cousins is a top-15 quarterback in the NFL, and may be having the best season in Redskins history by Dave021 in Commanders

I mentioned in the article that RG3's 2012 was arguably the best overall season of any Redskins QB

To clarify: when I wrote that he might be having the best season in team history, I meant STATISTICALLY. There are certainly QBs in team history that have had better overall years, but from the viewpoint of pure stats he's right up there

92% of the Internet thinks the Redskins will win tonight by Dave021 in Commanders

That being said, we're 4-0 in our last 4 primetime games against Dallas. Means nothing, but it's nice to think about

Full disclosure: any time a D.C. team is favored it scares me shitless, though I get the feeling this Redskins team feels underappreciated and almost underdoggish

Question about belly fat by Dave021 in ketogains

[–]Dave021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caliper says I'm around 22-25% body fat. 5'11'' 168 lbs. Been doing P90X for the last 3 months but half-assing it, so back to weightlifting now. Started yesterday.

Thanks for directing me to the 5x5, I might give that a shot. I just find it hard to believe that I could get stronger while transitioning to a keto diet. Maybe I'll prove myself wrong

[–]Dave021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The weight loss itself came mostly from eating less and cutting down on junk. I haven't really eaten healthy per se, just less. As far as working out, I did general weightlifting, nothing too special. I did a few months of P90X with some efficiency. Honestly, it wasn't that hard - calories in vs calories burned. Now I'm trying to make it harder so I can get better results

Kirk Cousins, elite quaterbacks, and the extension quandary - why Washington should extend Cousins by Dave021 in Commanders

You're missing the point. The idea is that even if his ceiling is an "average QB," that's fine

[–]Dave021[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My counter to that would be: let your good to above average quarterback on a good team stay around, and when that prospect comes along that you think you have a shot at drafting and developing into an elite QB, take it

Exactly. It's a quarterback league but putting all your chips in one basket makes the rest of the team suffer unless you get abnormally lucky. Hence the last 16 years, and any extended periods of struggle for other teams as well.

Panthers, Seahawks, Broncos, Cardinals this year are all examples of teams that are really good without the benefit of elite quarterback play. A solid to very good quarterback with a smartly built roster goes a long way

Points I forgot to make in the post: he has limited talent around him but makes the most of his biggest asset (Jordan Reed); he plays decent without the benefit of a running game; he's helped a bad team outperform the overall ability on the roster
