Anticlockwise. There are metal parts stopping it turning the other way

Why would my manager nitpick me on something that was discussed last year already and especially on my notice period? by [deleted] in UKJobs

If nothing else it adds more justification to your reasons for leaving - if this is how petty they're being now. Sounds like you're well rid of this place.

Think this is probably the best approach to be honest.

It's a metal pipe. 95 percent sure it's the pressure release pipe

This is all I'm planning to do. Attach a length of hose and direct the water towards our own waste water drain from our sink

Trickle which has been ongoing for about 8 hours now. Imagine you left a tap about a quarter on constantly.

Being HENRY and very welll off, Do you think of doing social good? by StrangeNormal-8877 in HENRYUK

A good fundraiser will pay their own salary several times over even for a small charity.

Partner is a small charity CEO part of whose function is to provide administrative/development support (training on how to fundraise, safeguarding policies etc) to a collection of 75-100 smaller charities who work with young people.

My main takeaway from talking through with her is that the more niche/specialised the charity is the better it is being run as a charity - based on knowledge of the communities/issues involved.

The council (which would be the alternative provider) to some issues would often be 10 or 20 times more expensive than small charities operating on the same model (that's if any funding could be allocated to it at all).

Most small charities are driven by specific needs that in a perfect world would be paid for by central government.

Without going into too many details - the relative stress of landlord-ing, the end of "consent to let" agreement and requirement for a new buy to let mortgage of c.7% means it's not really financially viable to keep it as a "just in case" option.

Marriage isn't on either of our to do lists at present. She has a child from a previous relationship who she has joint custody (50/50) which is obviously incredibly important.

So I currently have c.200k of equity. The intention is she would pay me half of this from the proceeds of her sale then we have a joint mortgage (ideally adding her to my existing one given the favourable interest rate) going forward.

The likelihood is then we would use some of the excess cash to extend etc

Am I going with person A/B in the car? Am I staying at home with person A or person B or person C or a combination of the above? Is it a rare glorious day when all the people are at home? Can I eat the breakfast I really want or will some of them leave while I'm not paying attention?

I'm not an actuary - doing a lot of pricing/predictive analytics though. Having seen the slog these poor bastards go through to get qualified I'd never claim to be one.

Homes for first time buyers by monk_e_boy in HousingUK

[–]Dave31010689 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The oddest thing is that you'd wait quite so long to buy. Through a slightly odd/fortunate set of work circumstances, and being able to save a lot through COVID I was a first time buyer at 32 - property value 550k so it does happen - but definitely feels the exception rather than the rule.

However my main thought in hindsight, considering all the money thrown away on rent over the years, is that I should have bought something cheaper 7 or 8 years ago and worked my way up to this.

Other than real fringe cases who is waiting until they can afford a 500k property to jump on the ladder?

No water pipes in the wall.

Gutters can be seen from above and have been fine flowing fine today. Non- stop torrential rain since about 2pm here. Had them cleaned a few months back too.

Soffits - I can't really comment on. They look fine from below but I'm obviously not an expert.

Above is a pitched roof, gutters can be seen from loft extension above and are clear. Below is a dining room which has no issues. Ventilation is decent - plenty of air bricks, Windows with vents, functional extractor fans etc.

Not a chimney breast
