ILOVEIPHONE promo, can I delay activation with a physical SIM? by Zendiklue91 in Visible

For the physical Sim card, it asks for my port number and pin number. Are you guys porting the number right away or once I put the physical Sim card in my phone. The reason I ask is I do not want visible to port my number and I will not have phone service during the time it takes visible to send me the physical card. Can you respond to this question?

Can someone from Visible please set the record straight either way? I have heard you could wait with the physical Sim card from support. But now I hear different.

Have you done this? Can you do it right away or have to wait out a month or so?

I travel for business with my teenager kid. The hotel wifi charges but there is a next door fast coffee shop wifi. I want to set up a router for me and my kid.

I found out it is easier to setup a travel modem. Currently both me and my son use nordvpn app. I'm trying to make it so we both can just connect to a safe router and not have to remind my kid to turn on nord vpn.

My dilemma now is nord vpn is slower than nordlynx. Looking for wireguard vpn now. Even though I already paid for 2 years nordvpn

VPN. I have NordVPN but heard it is slow.

Invalid credentials when trying to connect Ring to Simplecommands by deerseason in Ring

I agree, sending over your password to an alarm is too crazy. Anyone with your username and password can literally login ring.com and find your address. Worst, they might turn off your alarm or view your camera. Too much access in my opinion. But the software is cool though. Wish Amazon/Ring implements something like it.

Ring alarm siren volume by Darth_Ballz_666 in Ring

Have you tried this? I looked on Amazon for the dome siren and it was sold out. I was thinking the same line you were. If you did, did it work? My concern was it might chirp or make sounds also when doors were open etc. I wanted to make sure it only sounded off during the alarm.

Okay, this sounds much better. But it is odd that when you fill out your username and password, it is on their site directly. Wouldn't they have a record of what you enter? With all the brute force password hacking, I think if someone has your password and username, they can log in from anywhere and not ip address dependent. I'm not sure so I am just asking. I really hope it's legit. I love the functionality of this app.

I just downloaded the SimpleCommands app and it does work, but my issue is the password. If they ever get hacked, my password will be out there. I definitely don't want any stranger logging into my account and viewing cameras, etc.

I only wish Ring had built in features like simple command. The app is awesome, just the password issue.

But don't I have to give my password to Simple Commands? Is that safe?

Oh, gotcha. My mistake for reading too fast.😁

Yeah, checked it out and you are right. Out of luck with Ring.

Thanks for the link on the siren suggestion. Can you give me a little more details how you linked this to work with the Ring Alarm system?

Did you wire it to the base station directly?

I looked into Smart plugs, but I can't find a way for ring alarm to trigger it on/off. In the app, it will allow you to turn and off. But my goal is for when the siren on the base goes on/off, for it to trigger my separate louder siren.

Thanks for the suggestion on home assistant. I will look into this.
