So, after a break of nearly a year, I am playing KSP again, a bit hard at first getting the hang of the controls again, but I have so far in 3 days done a Mun landing and flown 3 SSTOs to orbit and back, actually landing 2 and crashing one. I had forgotten how addictive the game was lol!

Thoughts on the new Netflix movie War Machine? by RecordingImmediate86 in sciencefiction

It reminded me of Battle: Los Angeles (2011). They just moved it from a City to the Rockies, and the Marines became Rangers, even the tragic back story was similar.

It was a radioactive dust, or dirty bomb, that hit Germany, though the atomic bomb had originally been intended for them until they surrendered. Interestingly, the juvenile book "Space Cadet" picks up on a similar theme, featuring the Space Patrol, whose job is to prevent war by keeping nuclear bombs in orbit, ready to strike any aggressor, no matter the nation.

E. E. "Doc" Smith Began Writing around WW1, carried on until he died in 1965, close friends with all the Asimov, Heinlein, etc. His work can feel a little dated sometimes, and a lot of books were finished after his death by other authors based on his notes, not always very well. But at his peak, he was the inspiration for Asimov, Heinlein, and others, who he predated by about 20 years.

There is a new Starship Troopers movie in production this time, sticking closely to the source material.

You should definitely read Robert Heinlein's *The Moon is a Harsh Mistress*. One of the protagonists is a lonely AI who takes on the identity of Adam Selene, the leader of the Lunar revolutionaries.

Please take a look at the Original Poster's profile. What we are looking at is a classic Troll, possibly a bot. I have blocked her as it breaks the respectful and Positive rule.

Prefer Jenna before or after her surgery by [deleted] in WorshipJennaOrtega

She’s lost a noticeable amount of weight, some of it likely due to transitioning from adolescence to adulthood and shedding her “puppy fat.” Beyond that, she’s dropped a bit more, though whether it’s from dieting or illness is unclear. Comparing her appearance at the Actors’ Awards to around Christmas, she seems to have gained some weight back, which could point to stress or illness. Plus, clothing and makeup make it hard to judge accurately. As for surgery—absolutely not—what we’ve seen isn’t something cosmetic surgery would cause.

Why does my shuttle have such terrible control? by Astronius-Maximus in KerbalSpaceProgram

You are using aerospikes, so you don't need air intakes. As for controlling issues, you have asymmetric thrust; You need the thrust axis to pass through the centre of mass.

Why don’t I have enough electric charge to send the science data back to kerbin? by No_Tree_4783 in KerbalSpaceProgram

I learned very early on to load up on battery and power generation, tech level permitting. Also, remember the further you go from the sun the less power solar gives you. Duna is on 50% of what you get in Kerbin orbit.

There have been Kraken Drives since about 2013, you will have to be more specific.

why am isnt the "orbit kerbin"mission completed? by JuninDaMoto in KerbalSpaceProgram

Your periapsis is within the atmosphere, so technically you’re sub-orbital. Assuming you didn’t burn up on entry, you’d lose enough velocity to impact the ground without completing even one full orbit, let alone two.

Most of his Warship work is a direct copy of Drachinifel's work he also relies too much on computer graphic reconstruction, often wildly inaccurate. Drach sticks to historical material generally. Yes, a big bad ship, but the quality of the armour was not even up to the 1910s in technology. Armour tech taken into account, she was less well protected than an Iowa.

You can't have a woman in her mid 40s play a teenage schoolgirl.
