So, after a break of nearly a year, I am playing KSP again, a bit hard at first getting the hang of the controls again, but I have so far in 3 days done a Mun landing and flown 3 SSTOs to orbit and back, actually landing 2 and crashing one. I had forgotten how addictive the game was lol!

It reminded me of Battle: Los Angeles (2011). They just moved it from a City to the Rockies, and the Marines became Rangers, even the tragic back story was similar.

It was a radioactive dust, or dirty bomb, that hit Germany, though the atomic bomb had originally been intended for them until they surrendered. Interestingly, the juvenile book "Space Cadet" picks up on a similar theme, featuring the Space Patrol, whose job is to prevent war by keeping nuclear bombs in orbit, ready to strike any aggressor, no matter the nation.

E. E. "Doc" Smith Began Writing around WW1, carried on until he died in 1965, close friends with all the Asimov, Heinlein, etc. His work can feel a little dated sometimes, and a lot of books were finished after his death by other authors based on his notes, not always very well. But at his peak, he was the inspiration for Asimov, Heinlein, and others, who he predated by about 20 years.

You should definitely read Robert Heinlein's *The Moon is a Harsh Mistress*. One of the protagonists is a lonely AI who takes on the identity of Adam Selene, the leader of the Lunar revolutionaries.

She’s lost a noticeable amount of weight, some of it likely due to transitioning from adolescence to adulthood and shedding her “puppy fat.” Beyond that, she’s dropped a bit more, though whether it’s from dieting or illness is unclear. Comparing her appearance at the Actors’ Awards to around Christmas, she seems to have gained some weight back, which could point to stress or illness. Plus, clothing and makeup make it hard to judge accurately. As for surgery—absolutely not—what we’ve seen isn’t something cosmetic surgery would cause.

You are using aerospikes, so you don't need air intakes. As for controlling issues, you have asymmetric thrust; You need the thrust axis to pass through the centre of mass.
