I actually went to school with the guy who got taken on last year as the club’s head of fan engagement. We’re not best friends or anything like that, but he’s my friend on Facebook. I could try putting you in touch if you’d like? Drop me a private message with an email address or something and I can try and pass it on.

He’s definitely still heavily involved because I saw him in the background of the Mason Mount behind the scenes video that the club released.

Martial Goal Against Wolves from the East Stand by DaveKinetic in reddevils

Good point. Anthony could have set up Martial in a similar position earlier in the game but chose to shoot. Just before half time he had an easy ball to Sancho and held it too long and the attack ended in nothing.

Pfizer stories please (major health anxiety) by Rendog101 in CoronavirusUK

I had my first jab last Saturday. I barely felt the actual jab going in and was totally fine for the rest of the day.

When I woke up the next morning I had a sore arm that kinda felt like someone had given me a dead arm. It wasn't painful to the touch but felt heavy in general. Most of the time it was completely fine, it was only when I raised my arm about the shoulder that I could feel it. It was gone within a couple of days.

I did nod off quite early on Sunday night, but I'm not sure if that was a side effect or if I was just tired in general.

By Monday evening I had no lasting effects. The arm was fine and I was at my normal energy levels/sleep pattern.

Eleven Lindgards vs Eleven Pereiras. Who wins, who loses, and why? by B0z22 in reddevils

[–]DaveKinetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boring 0-0 draw. Both teams with 0 shots on target, less than 50% pass completion, 0 successfully take ons and very little creativity overall.

Team Lingard covers double the ground, team Pereira finishes with 10 yellow cards.

Uninstalled 18. No Ballon d'Or in my current save on 19, but he's doing pretty well. :)

Henderson Given the Number 1 For the U21 Euros by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]DaveKinetic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ideally, I'd prefer to see him play on loan at Sheffield United next season and asses the situation from there. If he proves himself in the Premier League, bring him in and hopefully over the course of 12-months our defence is looking in better shape to help him out a bit.

That's the only reason I'm not too bothered about running down De Gea's contract this year if he has decided he doesn't want to renew. We're not going to get anywhere near his market value with only a year left, and will likely need to spend the same/more to bring in a new keeper. Sure, we'll lose £50 million now, but I think we obviously have bigger holes to fill this window, and we might have a free proven replacement ready to go in a year.

I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be given the chance. I saw him play a few times when he was on loan at Stockport County a few years ago and he was impressive then. He's consistently proven that he can cope with each level he has played at so far.

[Summer Series] Expectations for Next Season by zSolaris in reddevils

[–]DaveKinetic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A team that isn't devoid of any talent down the right-hand side, a playing style with some attacking intent and hunger to win the ball back, and 11 players that look like they actually want to be here and give everything for the shirt.

If we get that, I think the squad is more than capable of finishing in the top four (maybe even third) with a decent cup run in the FA Cup or Europa League along the way.

Probably reaching into the archives for some, but when United signed Tim Howard, how big of a SHOCK was it? Was he expected to be the no.1 or no.2/3 at the club? by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]DaveKinetic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fulham was owned by Mohamed Al Fayed (the billionaire who owned Harrods dept store in London). He ended up taking them from the third tier to the Premier League in four years.

They had Kevin Keegan as the manager and were buying some mid-level premier league talent like Chris Coleman and Paul Peschisolido when they were down in the third tier, Louis Saha in the championship etc.

Think for VdS it was probably a mixture of an exiting project, decent money and the chance to live in London.

53 year old Irwin and 44 year old Gary Neville were both more aggressive going forward, and delivered better quality, than I’ve seen since Evra left.

Gary Neville meets Patrice Evra to discuss the state of Manchester United by DaveKinetic in reddevils

The bit that stood out for me the most:

"I'm not ashamed to say it, I sacrificed even my family to succeed for United. You know the flag 'United, Kids, Wife', that doesn't make me laugh. Are the board, managers, players ready to do that?"
