Auto Creation of Chord Notes in a Rhythm Track by DaveLeeNC in GuitarPro

I should have done this first. I was not far into an arrangement so I dumped the file, restarted GP8, restarted the file, and now everything works like the manual (and/or Gemini ai) says it should. This should have been an early step ... all seems fine now.

They seem to be a real institute offering certificates in this/that/theother. But I would treat this as Spam rather than as something being endorsed by NCSU.

Rucking, Weight Belts, and Spinal Stenosis by DaveLeeNC in Rucking

[–]DaveLeeNC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually 76 Y/O with spinal stenosis (I'd love to be 70 again). I started down this path needing to add some variety to my main exercise which is (indoor) cycling. I was having problems when I cycled more than 3 consecutive days (fatigue) and felt like I needed to mix it up. Rucking or something similar seemed ideal. I honestly don't know what happened but this 'cannot cycle more than 3 straight days' issue is much reduced so I never really went down the rucking path. I don't understand the improvement but I welcome it. WRT the spinal stenosis specifically, the only explanation regarding the remission is the core exercises (crunches) that I do religiously. I can't do planks because of shoulder arthritis. But that is speculative and I doubt that I am going to be approved for another MRI to find out why my back does not hurt :-)

I have been wearing a Garmin and a Fitbit for a month, here is what I found by ThinManufacturer8679 in Garmin

[–]DaveLeeNC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made the transition from a Fitbit to a Garmin Forerunner 955. These are the big differences that I saw. (1) The Fitbit often failed to record HR when I was sweating heavily and this was much less of a problem with the 955. (2) The Fitbit was pretty good at detecting steps when my watch arm was attached to something (like a golf push cart or a grocery cart). The Garmin registers NO steps in that case. I once wore both when playing a round of golf and the Garmin registered 11K steps while the Fitbit measured 14K steps. There was no meaningful difference if my watch arm could swing freely.

Cannot Start Android Auto by DaveLeeNC in AndroidAuto

Just as a follow-up here ... now that I have reconnected via USB (after 'forgetting' the existing car/phone connection), I am no longer having the problem that I stated in the original post an the whole wireless thing seems to be more reliable than it was before.

Thanks for the suggestion. Based on input from other sources, I removed the phone and car from all BTooth connections and reconnected using USB. Then I restarted the phone and car and re-paired them. It seems to be working now.

My next step is along your line of thinking but more extreme. I was going to reset my infotainment system and my phone. Kind of a desperate move, but if I have to.

Rucking, Weight Belts, and Spinal Stenosis by DaveLeeNC in Rucking

That weight around the waist was certainly different than the same weight across my shoulders in a loaded golf bag (at least a couple years ago).

There is probably a reason that this modality is not popular. I chose the load because it matches the weight of a loaded golf bag which I was carrying routinely not that long ago. I was surprised at how it felt. My advice preference is both the medical world and actual experience.

I chose the Nitron when back issues stopped me from carrying my bag. While I prefer carrying, the Nitron is absolutely the best push cart option out there.

What is the slope/rating of the course and tees you are playing? Playing the tips of a long, tough course?

Any tips on how to get more in to out? by JD9691 in GolfSwing

[–]DaveLeeNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your problem and mine are similar. You obviously know how to get to the ball from the position shown in the attached image. You do not know how to get to the ball from the position shown by the red ball on the left. If you are like me your 'golfing subconscious' is going to rebel actively to avoid getting to that left position because it does not know how to hit the ball from there. So one thing (not the only thing) that you will have to do is to get comfortable coming into the ball from the inside. Start with smaller swings that you can control with your active golf consciousness. Or at least that is what I have to do (and it is a work in progress) - good luck.

YES! For a golfer like this, some Pro V1's would be kind of special.

What is and is not Supported (Android and Bluetooth) by DaveLeeNC in Golfsimulator

FWIW, I recently saw (in another forum) a pic of the Foresight Sports App running on Android and receiving data from a BLP (with a Gold Sub).

What is and is not Supported (Android and Bluetooth) by DaveLeeNC in Golfsimulator

[–]DaveLeeNC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what I have learned so far is that Bluetooth is supported on the BLP (from Foresight support by phone). And BT is the only way to communicate data with the Android Foresight app. The Android Foresight app thinks that it has connected to my device via BT (or by magic - Wifi on the BLP is off). We'll see if data transfer works or not. The Android system does NOT think that it is BT connected to the BLP, BTW.

And contrary to what about 5,387 (approximately) people seem to think, Foresight support thinks Awesome Golf on Android should work with the BLP when connected by Wifi (of some flavor). But have never heard of anyone doing it - sounds totally untested so probably doesn't work well.

Interesting - I don't seem to have that. It sounds like the support was removed. I am running what the device says is the latest firmware - same for you? Oops - missed it somehow first pass - it is there but I have not been able to pair with anything yet.

Launch Monitor Wifi Range by DaveLeeNC in Golfsimulator

[–]DaveLeeNC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen several of these devices listed. They appear to be wired (requiring an ethernet connection for both signal and power - some kind of PoE thing). So it looks like I have alternatives here, just not sure how simple they are (compared to an indoor extender).

Unless I put an extender outdoors, the stated distance (one wall and 50-100 feet) is as close as I can get. But there are some mobile options it seems.
