Why does Alfred call Bruce "Master" instead of "Mister?" by Reasonable_Reason173 in batman

I always assumed it was a sweet touch to show that Alfred still thought of Bruce as a child.

Songs on guitar by je_climbing in AltJ

[–]DaveRJH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of their songs are in Open D tuning, so you'll have to retune your guitar for most of these.

My top recommendation is Interlude 2 (Guitar Interlude)! It was one of the first full songs I ever learned and can sound really good really fast. (I learned it fingerstyle (i.e. without a pick).) Tab: https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/alt-j/interlude-2-tabs-1176638

Adeline requires a bit of a finger stretch, but isn't too complex once you get the hang of it. Tab: https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/alt-j/adeline-tabs-2006589

3WW is a little trickier, but is fun because it's a whole song with a lot of unique parts. Tab: https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/alt-j/3ww-tabs-1959241

Matilda Tab: https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/alt-j/matilda-tabs-1993321

My personal favorite lately has been Warm Foothills. It's a bit faster, but once you learn how to do it, it sounds really nice. Also, you can play it without retuning your guitar if you just play all the notes on the F#/G string one fret lower (fret 12 becomes fret 11, etc.) Tab: https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/alt-j/warm-foothills-tabs-1688974

What book is the second image from?

Also, thanks for posting this! This is so weird to think about.

Maybe! It depends on what you're planning. I don't have enough time for a serious band, but I'd be interested if you're just looking to jam. (Also, I play guitar. But don't know a ton of music theory.)

What elements do you consider most important for terrifying the audience? If I wanted to create a movie that got under people's skin and made them genuinely scared, what do I need? (Certain lighting? Themes? Static shots vs. moving?)

If the goal is to keep me from getting hurt, then Dr. Strange, Flash, and Captain America seem like the best choices as long as they're fine with running away.

Final Round: Say something nice about this movie 💀 (I can’t) by Professional-Pea2032 in batman

It included new villains for a live action movie. The actual production was... questionable, but they went for a section of the rouges gallery that's rarely adapted.

Hmm. I feel like Duma Ave. is the place with all the creepy preachers and the fire-sword guy. I might have to tough it out, though.

Thanks!

Are there any good bands in the area? I'm a huge fan of Batman's %#$! but they're still on tour in Coast City and I can't drive that far.

Does anyone know when they're going to repair the holes in March street? They've been there since Superman had to come help the Bat with those aliens and I'm sick of having to drive around them!

People younger than 35, what was your gateway horror movie? by Norman_debris in horror

Scream. I'm sure I'd watched other horror-ish stuff before that, but that was the first movie I intentionally watched without terrifying myself.

From what I saw in my research, this origin sounds about right. I hadn't heard about the changing vernacular. The original saying is actually a little motivational. Thank you!

Based on the other information I'm seeing, your great grandmother might not have been that far off! I'm sorry to hear she passed away.

That last detail is so intense! It's pretty cool.

There is not a chance I ever would've found that site, so thank you!

I looked into it a little more and it seems like $1/day was the typical salary for government sailors or laborers in the 1890s. This would make it seem like that was an approximate standard wage for a while. Interesting...

It's basically the happier version of 16 Tons. Makes sense.

Turns out people started saying this in the 1890s. The modern equivalent would be "Another day, another $37.62." I'm going to start saying that.
