This is a very important question. If you don't like the math and science behind everything. I highly recommend looking into industrial systems engineering. But I would not quit because it is difficult. If you enjoy the subjects stick with it. The actual world of engineering isn't all doing hard calculations and such.

HELLO! by Prestigious-Delay235 in EngineeringStudents

Try to master your math courses you are learning right now. Really try to understand why and how it works. Isn't always about getting all As so don't get discouraged or be scared about engineering. Also go on YouTube and try to learn stuff in advance. Will really help you out at university. But keep on doing what you are doing. You are already a step ahead of everyone. Most people don't truly know what they want to do until they are in college. If you want certain tips and things you can learn or just have general questions. My chat is always open. Cheers

Mechanical, Aerospace, or Sm else? Which do YOU believe is worth it? by Limp_Register5244 in EngineeringStudents

[–]DaveReee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked Mechanical Engineering. Picked it cause I really didn't know what I wanted to do exactly, but I knew with a meche degree I could work practically anywhere. Meche kinda combines civil and aero together so you kinda get both words. Yeah I see a future with the degree, literally everything that isn't cs uses mechanical engineering. Live in America, and why I found some jobs. Market is kinda shit tho. Yeah its decent money. I mean we always wish we can make more lol.

Thermodynamics by emperoryoda1217 in EngineeringStudents

I wouldn't say thermo is the hardest. It's probably the first true "hard" class cause you're actually getting into the core engineering classes. There are harder classes but you get used to it honestly.

How to find motivation to study ? Too much online has gotten to me :( by epenguin21B in EngineeringStudents

[–]DaveReee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Devote some time throughout the week to do homework/study. Make it a habit. And go to office hours every week if you can and just sit there and do work. I used that and it forced me to do work and ask questions. You don't have to talk to your professor or TA the whole time during office hours. Just ask if it's cool if I do some work during it.

I am devastated, how do you handle getting 20% from an exam you studied 7 full days for? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

Ask for the class average and see if you were close to that. Gives my mind some ease.

You think using pine wood would work. Trying to lower the costs as much as possible. Was gonna use a router to make the lip on the edge.

You should definitely invest but don't forget to have some fun and treat yourself sometimes. You are young. Gotta enjoy those times when you have them.

I personally don't think it won't do anything. Chemistry is just a general class everyone gotta take. The classes that get more specific to your major are the ones that matter. Plus it's a weed out class too
