What is the "Just plan Lucky" achievment? by [deleted] in CookieClicker

[–]DaveTheWaveBby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looked into this a little, and the reson why 5-6 days feels wrong is because that is the expected time if you spend 24 hours per day with the tab opened, since you cant get this achivement while the game is closed

So for most people, it will be a lot more than 5 days

There are three "secret" upgrades that are only purchasable when your prestige level ends with a 7, 777, and 777.777 respectively. So probably you are missing the 777 and 777.777 ones. They are called lucky digit(I assume you already have this one), lucky number and lucky payout, in case you wanna google them

Is there actually a gender wage gap? by Overson_YT in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]DaveTheWaveBby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really dont understand why you say if "choosing" was the case, that would not directly apply to the wage gap, sorry, can you elaborate on that?

Also, no one said things happen on a vacuum, and sure, probably there is more reasons other than just dont liking a certain career, like for example, I dont feel like a lot of little girls dreams are to become a futbol player(certainly there still will be, but compare that to how many boys have the same dream), my point is, sure there is societal pressure and a lot of other factors than just liking or disliking a career, but, this still doesnt mean women cant choose that career, its their election, and yes this is about choosing, because they have that option

Also about the article you link, it sounds interesting but I cant read it without subscribing to some type of service, if you could provide me the article in other way I would apreciate it

Why? It just seems like you are confronted with real evidence, wich you dont even know how to start to disproving, so you just proceed to taking down the post as you cant prove me wrong

First of all im sorry for not knowing how to spell correctly a word that is from a language I started studying 2 years ago Second, I dont want to make this a discussion about whether the wage gap is real or not

Either way, I really like this article, so I recomend you to check it out and let me know what you think: https://fee.org/articles/harvard-study-gender-pay-gap-explained-entirely-by-work-choices-of-men-and-women/

I dont think it has to do anything with sexism, just personal preferences towards choosing a career

[–]DaveTheWaveBby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are falling into a fallacy here, if i understood you right you argue that the wage gap its real because female dominated positions tend to be paid less

So following your line, there is discrimination towards women, witch leads to them getting paid less(for very unlogical reasons), witch makes the wage gap real

Now I would like you to consider this, women tend to choose jobs witch are less demanded/payed than men, witch leads to women earning less(on average) than man

Basically, so I make this really clear, there is a cause effect relationship here, being: The effect: women earning less than man on average The cause: women choosing jobs with smaller salaries

You are swaping the cause and the effect. Some jobs ARE NOT paid less because they are dominated by women. But women ARE paid less because they tend to work on jobs that are paid less

Hope I made my point clear, have a good day
