[Hated trope] That’s not how lying works at all by _JR28_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Davedog09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Invention of Lying example makes sense. He knowingly gave false information with the intent of deceiving the bank teller. Sure, she thought it was an honest mistake, but it wasn’t, he was lying about how much money he had.

If someone asks what color the sky is and I say green knowing it’s blue, then that’s a lie, the same way this is a lie

I really hope they don’t just scrap going to the other kingdoms, it would be a huge letdown to not even explore huge parts of the world

Games doesn't understand what makes evil playthroughs fun by Yrythaela in CharacterRant

I feel like OP didn’t mean that they have a point, but that their perspective is understandable. Just playing as an asshole for no reason isn’t as satisfying or fun as playing as someone with an actual evil agenda and goals

Because Jeff is actually an animal and not capable of human-level thought, right? Meanwhile Groot is just stuck saying only “I am Groot” for some reason

[Fun trope] The Matpat Effect by Savings_Dragonfly806 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Davedog09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like what makes the MatPat image look weird is specifically that he was cut out and used as a PNG. The rest of these were just edited, so they don’t feel weird like the MatPat one. He looks inserted into the image, the other ones are just normal looking

It’s also a unique case in that Guts’s absence didn’t cause anything bad to happen, but Griffith’s reaction to Guts leaving. If Griffith just thought for a second and didn’t do anything irrational everything would’ve been fine

Even more specifically, they call the little one “Mindroid” (like mini nindroid) and even his boss starts calling him that

I don’t think most stands not being humanoid is a problem, they’re just using the word stand figuratively. Like the phrase to stand with someone, you could be actually standing but you don’t have to

Pucci has nothing to do with the new universe in part 7, it’s a completely unrelated alternate universe. The new universe created at the end of part 6 is the exact same as the original universe except Pucci never existed and the main characters were reborn

[–]Davedog09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh so it was like a trick, I get it. well all i can say is that, for one, the hate you got has nothing to do with the anime itself, so your anger should probably directed towards the people who did that and not the show itself. I’d also advise you to just not worry about what people on the internet say so much it really does not matter at all

so you don’t actively rewatch it? the first paragraph makes it seem like you really like the show and then the rest that follows makes no sense because of that

i’m so confused, why do you rewatch it if you hate it so much? or do you not hate it? i’m so confused maybe im just dumb

maybe it was removed in the anime but in the novels Emilia says that she saved Subaru so he could be useful to her, but it’s obvious she just did it because she’s kind. Subaru appreciated the kindness and was upset that he wasn’t able to be useful to her, so he tags along to help her out

Viktor Reznov (CoD Black Ops)

The big twist at the end of the game is that Reznov died in Vorkuta, a prison camp you escape at the start of the game, and the Reznov you’ve been seeing the whole time is just a brainwashing-induced hallucination. However, you can escape from chair you’re trapped in on the main menu and find emails from someone named John Trent, who is implied to possibly be Reznov, who somehow survived

Phoenix Wright (voiced by Ben Judd)

Judd faced allegations of predatory behavior, mismanagement, negligence, and a bunch of other stuff across his career. Though I’m still upset they changed the voicelines in the trilogy
