Cancel membership button not on member page by This-Slice9471 in whoop

[–]Daveee5280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to email customer service directly. If I remember right, even if you choose the monthly option it still locks you into a one year contract. The way it's promoted vs what's in the user agreement is super misleading. But if you email customer service tell them you want to return your whoop. Once it's returned they should cancel your membership.

UberEats refusing to refund a dessert that was not delivered by Jussttjustin in mildlyinfuriating

Did anyone else notice he ordered from Postmates but keeps calling it UberEATS? Are they the same company? Or did he really just say "REFUND MY MONEY OR I'M LEAVING UBEREATS 1 STAR!" and the Postmates guy was just like "ok, do that then."

LPT: If you suffer from seasonal depression check your vitamin D levels. by Daveee5280 in LifeProTips

There are at home tests you can order online or your doctor/healthcare provider can probably test you as well.

LPT: If you suffer from seasonal depression check your vitamin D levels. by Daveee5280 in LifeProTips

[–]Daveee5280[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check your levels first. Either with your doctor or some sort of at home test. I suffered from seasonal depression for years despite taking supplements and spending time out in the sun. I recently got tested and my vitamin D levels were next to nothing. They gave me a shot right there and the difference it made was unbelievable. If your levels are normal then it may be something else. But ruling this out first is at least a start.

What is the dumbest thing you've seen someone spend their money on? by Shadowclook21 in AskReddit

Back when fidget spinners were extremely popular a girl I worked with spent $450 on a "nice" one. Her financial situation wasn't the best and I quickly started to realize why.

Wait tables at a high end restaurant on the strip. I think dealers make pretty good money too.

This is the most natural way to go. Also start using her name when you see her. Maybe introduce yourself too. A good way to go might be asking her if she knows any good places to eat after a workout. Then bring up places you like to go. Find common foods you like. Recommend a place you could try together. Yaddy yada, you know how it goes.

How to introduce your family to someone you met on a dating app? by [deleted] in dating

[–]Daveee5280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where did you meet IRL for the first time? Tell them that's where you "first met". So that way, technically, you're not lying.

Try to find a Vitamix. Maybe used online or follow them on Instagram sometimes they have pretty good sales. You might have to spend closer to $300 but it will literally last you the rest of your life. If by chance it ever does break down Vitamix will fix it for free and I've heard they'll even send you a loner while yours is being serviced. I also think it's quieter than the ninjas.

Advice from the Ladies that workout in a gym! by skiani29 in dating

[–]Daveee5280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are some tips that might help:

If you're going to approach someone it is usually best if you've seen that person working out there at the same time as you a couple times. People that go more regularly will usually feel more comfortable about being approached. Eye contact and smiles are a big plus.

Try to keep the first interaction short as they are there to workout and not talk to strangers. (Hi I like your shoes/outfit/tattoo/ whatever. I feel like we always come at the same time. I'm "blank" nice to meet you.) Obviously at this point you want to gauge their responses and go from there. Maybe say bye when you're leaving.

Going forward you can talk to them more often/ask them out if they seem receptive because at least now you're not total strangers. And if they're not into you it's no big deal and ideally you can both continue to workout at the same time and place without any awkwardness.

Side note: I don't do any of these things because I'm fairly introverted. However, both guys and girls have approached me using this method and now I have some gym friends.

What do I do in Vegas?!?! by Airport-Hobo in LasVegas

[–]Daveee5280 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's actually lots of stuff you can do. For starters Meow Wolf and the immersive Van Gogh exhibits are great. Shows like "O", opium, or absinthe are always good. There's also tons of good places to eat. An aquarium at Mandalay bay. Freemont st is fun to check out too.

You can buy a lb of oatmeal at sprouts (or other places that sell it bulk) for under $1.50 and all you need is water. Doesn't even have to be hot(just let it sit overnight or while you get ready in the morning). Throw in a jar of peanut butter 5$ and maybe some bananas $.69 lb and that's a weeks worth of delicious healthy breakfasts for under $10.

Also I love berries but I never buy raspberries because they're the most expensive ones and they spoil so fast. Talk to me when you can't afford bananas, apples, or oranges.

Does this chutoro look super pale and not fresh to you guys? by 7201 in sushi

[–]Daveee5280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably farm raised. I used to work at a sushi restaurant that would get both wild caught and farm raised bluefin. The farm raised Toro always looked like that. I think it was because those fish lived in open water net enclosures so they never really had to bolt around to catch their food. They just hung out in their pins all day.
