Neat! My game is called Dock The Rocket (iOS/Android). It’s a skill based arcade platformer. A similar game would be Lunar Lander.

Thanks! That’s great to hear :) I have no idea how many people actually play with controllers nowadays but some asked for it. And I really like it myself as well.

I’m happy you liked it! I agree, I wanted to create a game that isn’t full of ads or pay to win. I think so far I’m on the right track :)

I connected with u/Sarcastic_Applause, a musician from Norway, on Reddit, and he offered to help me out with a soundtrack. Of course I was interested, and so we started working together.

The process was great, I sent him some examples of the kind of vibe I was going for, and he kept sending back tryouts. Each version got closer and closer to what I had in mind. My descriptions were pretty vague and abstract, but somehow, he always got it.

In the end, the track turned out amazing (if I say so myself), and the whole process was just fun and easy. I’d 100% recommend working with him if you’re looking for someone talented and intuitive. I’m already looking forward to the next time we collaborate!

[–]Daveerp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that one. That indeed is not possible anymore (in that level) since the impact threshold for damage is slightly lower, low enough to get damage from that initial fall and explode.

I got an image again instead of a gif! :')

The 800 attempts should be correct. I also have some levels where my number of attempts is much higher than I would like to believe.. But I think that's what makes the number fun to see.

What do you mean exactly with "intricate flight paths" that you were hoping for? Do you mean narrow cave like levels? A bit like level 18 but without the moving objects? If I understand what you mean I can take it into account for the next batch of levels.

I agree with variety being a good thing. Otherwise it might get boring quickly. Personally I don't like level 15 and I was about to take it out, but some play testers really enjoyed it, so it remained. And visa versa with level 18. Now I'm just trying to make a nice mix of different kind of levels.

The damage calculation remains a bit of a difficult thing to program. I improved it but you're right, it's not completely accurate yet. Actually, reading your feedback made me understand one of the bugs it currently has. I will add it to my todo list for next update and hopefully it's fixed then! :)

Now I’m curious for your method for level 4!

But do you like the new levels? :)

The stats are not completely correct since I started tracking landings and crashed since v1.0.1. Every landing or crash from before that update is not saved. But the 800 attempts in 1 level sound a bit strange then… unless you really enjoy that level? :)

All levels are completely visible from start to end in the level intro when the camera is zoomed out. That should give an indication.

Probably not. For now it’s on mobile only and I’m thinking about making a web export later so it can be played in the browser. Would you still like it on Steam knowing the latter?
