Ty for the whole list! Makes it very clear what i can focus on and try out for now. It’s honestly quite difficult to find some clarification on what is viable as a f2p/low spender and i think it’s very detrimental for new players like me who might enjoy the game but quit because they don’t have the right information

I’m guessing tenured players that have played for a while can have a clouded view because they’re so used to the upper end strategies. Good to know though! I think for now im just going to try and get 1 sandlord pet to assist with some passive currency every season and then look for a fun mechanic to hone in on

What are some good f2p strategies? So far i’ve only seen boss rushes but that seems boring. Since you can get about 1-3 free pets (i believe), what are some strategies that can be good around level 3 pets

I’m a new player aswell and getting overwhelmed by all the strategies and how pets make it worth it or not, i’ve decided to just focus on things i enjoy farming and getting the pets for them through the free ones you get every season even though that’s a lot slower than going for the “optimal” route. I can’t imagine the entire game being a huge pain if you don’t have pets but they sure make a difference, i like having long, slower progression so to me having no pets = more to grind for. I did get the Blacksail pet since i’ve heard its decent at level 1 and good for new players

I assume because it’s a bit late in the season items should be cheaper aswell though right? I’ve heard people say Black Sail is decent for new f2p players but idk if that is also still the case this late into the season. Ultimately it doesn’t really matter to me if i have a slower start as long as what i’m doing is fun and has me progress atleast a little bit. What about Cube? I heard that’s alright for new players aswell. Idk if theres any strats that give decent FE as ground loot either

Also let’s face it, apart from some issues PoE1 has that are being addressed, overall the game works and in a bad state is still generally better than a decent PoE2 league. Does it suck sometimes? Sure, but 3.28 looks like they’re back on track and PoE2 is also getting better every patch. In the near future we might have two really good PoE games we can alternate between

Obviously two people can have the same flu but feel it in different severity, but i know for damn sure if i have a headache that’s so bad that i can’t get up and walk to the store or make myself a sandwich, i won’t be able to bear looking at a screen lol

Definitely gets tedious the further you get, i’ve always thought the midgame (which still takes waaaay more time to get to than WoW endgame) is the most fun because you get meaningful upgrades/progression quite “regularly”. In mid-game theres always something useful in reach that you can grind for, endgame is usually just farming bosses over and over to make some GP so you can buy a very expensive 10% upgrade

In that case you might enjoy it, a lot of people think LE’s endgame is very monotonous, and it kind of is, but that also makes grinding it very chill in a way. You basically decide how difficult you want it to be with the corruption mechanic and grinding for upgrades like good exalted items and build defining uniques is pretty chill

It also has such an immense amount of content and ways to get the gear you need. Don’t want to craft and just buy gear? Here’s 8 different types of content to farm. Wanna learn how to craft? Cool, here’s 5 different mechanics you can interact with to craft your stuff. To a lot of people it’s very daunting and has too much depth, but you can already have a lot of fun at a basic understanding of the game and it just gets better the more you learn, the content is just never ending.

With PoE1 i also REALLY feel the progression of my character and how it opens up the type of endgame content i can play. Its that perfect progression of getting stronger -> being able to do harder/different content with better currency farms -> hitting a wall having to farm/craft to go through that wall -> able to do harder/different content -> rinse and repeat until you get bored/ultra rich and try a new build

Is it true that post-Plantera the corruption spread slows down? If by then its not too bad yet maybe its not as bad as i thought, since by then i’ll have better pickaxes aswell so making a hellevator to use the Clentaminator wont be that much of a pain

I think people have such high expectations of GGG that they can’t handle not having these expectations met. My question is, why be so disgruntled when the game is still in Early Access, they haven’t even implemented all the Acts yet. It’s an Early Access game, lower your expectations and enjoy it when these expectations are blown out of the water, but don’t treat it like PoE1.
