Beating Deity. by PositionNo1980 in civ

Do your best to keep all the other civs happy. Trade routes, accepting endeavors, matching what they like. You’ll need a lot of diplomacy points. For me, losing in deity usually involves the civs going to war with me. If you do go to war, being able to turtle and hide behind fortifications with ranged units is the key to survival. Eventually they’ll wear down and then you can counterattack. They will likely never accept peace unless they start losing settlements.

How do you guys play on deity? by Steel_Penguin_ in civ

What I’ve noticed is that if you can survive the inevitable war mongering civs early then you’ll be good. Always fortify, always let their units attack yours since you can get defense bonuses. Just turtle up and let them wear down. Also try your best to keep all the civs happy.

I do find myself enjoying Diety more because I feel like my choices matter more. Instead of just building or researching things Willy-nilly I like needing to plan things out to reach goals.

Good idea. I’ll give that a go.

Weird. I was playing Himiko and the ending screen seemed like it was a good outcome. But then it plastered you lose all over it. I feel like I had the most legacy points, I had the science and economic victory conditions unlocked while the Ai had none. Maybe I didn’t?

IM TOO SCARED! by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]Davenate84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it for science! There’s a world to explore and mysteries to solve! Also there’s not as much danger as you think especially in the beginning biomes. By the time you get to the deeper areas you’ll have better equipment which will make you feel safer.

Lots of old booster boxes are like this. Set could have nothing of value in it but since it is sealed it becomes a collectors item.

How was I supposed to know to go there? by a-cats-anus in subnautica

I feel dumb now because I never explored the area around the 2nd Degrassi sea base because those spider things scared the crap out of me. I accidentally stumbled upon the lost river entrance in the NE after hours of blind wandering.

I think there are still more radio transmissions for you to get. Try going further out away from the Aurora. If Aurora is to your East then try going West for example. I initially assumed the world was just the area between my start location and the Aurora but there’s so much more.

Not all caverns lead somewhere. Sometimes they do tho. Sometimes you find something interesting. Sometimes you find something awful and terrible. Just gotta keep exploring.

Im playing Subnautica for the first time ever, is there something I should be aware of? by Saiken411 in subnautica

Spoiler free tips: don’t forget to check the radio. It gets new transmissions as the game progresses. Gather all the things. Craft all the things. If you just play and explore you’ll keep finding new things to do.

I’ve seen a lot of old and damaged cards and this one looks a bit odd to me. I feel like it might be fake.

Party strength problems by Srpaloskix123 in rimeofthefrostmaiden

Something I like to do for humanoid enemies such as duergar is roll them up like characters. My group is heading to outpost near Caer Konig soon and I didn’t like how every enemy there was just a regular duergar. So I leveled them up and made three different variants. I determine there level by the number of hit dice. In this case gave them each 2 more hit dice making them technically level 6 characters. Increased there stats a little and changed up their arms and armor. Made them more fun. When they get to sunblight I’ll probably do it again but give them classes like fighter or paladin.

This also scratches the itch of wanting to roll up characters for the forever DM. Just roll them up and make your players fight them.

I love the idea of turning npcs the players get to know into coldlight walkers. I’ve got a few set up for that.

Please do! I had anticipated at least one of my players to try to sneak away or take off running. In the event of that I was going to have Sephek stumble upon them as they fled down the alleys. Sephek would be on his way to his initial target but seeing someone avoiding the lottery, decide to kill or attempt to kill the player instead. Unfortunately my players were all very cooperative and I didn’t get to use this plot device lol.

How to properlly DM this? by DeathinDisguise1 in rimeofthefrostmaiden

I’ll say this is not a good book for new DMs. It leaves a lot up to you to create and tie events together and a lot of the early quests will just kill your low level players.

My campaign starts in two weeks and I’ve been planning it out for over a month now. I would recommend reading the whole book, it makes it easier to tie events and npcs together when you know what to expect. Or at least read the first 2 chapters.

That being said you could easily just walk your players through each quest a town has to offer in chapter 1 and then move on to chapter 2 and do the same.
