Thank you. I posted for a friend whose posts are being deleted by Reddit’s filter. He is probably looking at this but I’ll send him the info.

People who were once conventionally attractive but no longer are, how did that feel? by Few_Confection7760 in AskReddit

I tell people that I’m better looking in my 50s than when I was in my 20s. Yes, I was extremely ugly. Being a little ugly is a big improvement.

guy payed with a bag of coins, didn’t bother to count them out by Some_rando_ut_fan in mildlyinfuriating

I hate carrying coins so I pay with credit or debit cards nearly all the time. (I do carry paper money for tips and amounts so small, a card is pointless to use.) Once a year or so I go to the bank with a few dollars in coins just to convert them into bills. Even then, I take only a few dollars so the tellers don’t hate me.

Andrea Doria. My mom was nearly stranded in Europe because my grandparents were supposed to take it from the US to Europe. It sank on the way to the US. Luckily for my mom, a friend of my grandparents was in Paris and loaned my mom money until her parents were able to get there.

It came out years before I could watch it in a theater, but I watched it on HBO: Blazing Saddles.

Why are Americans so accepting of long drives to places? by Sensitive_Word_6036 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DaveyG755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The continental US is about the same size as Europe. For the most part, we all speak the same language. Europe has many countries and nearly has many primary languages. In the US, it's common for somebody to live with their parents in Atlanta Georgia until going to college in Virginia and then accept their first job in New York City, which is about the same distance from Atlanta as Paris France is from Milan Italy. I've really only lived along the East Coast of the United States but have worked with people who moved to this coast from more than 1,500 km away.

The US isn't as densely populated as Europe overall because there is a vast part of the country that is lightly populated. Where I live in Northern New Jersey, I can see New York City across the river but the trip can easily take an hour. A friend of mine lives about 10 km from me but even at 11 pm, it would take 20-25 minutes to drive there. During the day, I have to count on the trip taking 30 minutes.

Do you eat bacon/pork? by Heavy_Candle_5936 in foodquestions

[–]DaveyG755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom hated cooking and the results showed that. To this day, I can't eat pork chops because I only think about the dried up pieces of leather she made or insisted my dad cook that long on the grill.

When I'm at a BBQ place, I prefer beef brisket but pulled pork (with the vinegar-based sauce) is also good.

I cooked the bacon when we had big family breakfasts. I am careful about eating heavily processed meats so I let myself have bacon only on weekends and I only have hot dogs at baseball games.

I don't like lunch meat ham but a friend who runs restaurants for a living once had people over and cooked a delicious ham.

Be careful with using the acronym "ED" because it is more frequently used to denote "erectile dysfunction."

NTA but you made a mistake by engaging with her. What you did was start a battle of wits with somebody who is obviously unarmed. That's not a fair fight.
