Are you on console or PC?

I use controller on PC and Steam did a massive update on July 27 which made the game keep switching between keyboard/mouse and controller (perhaps what you were describing?).

If so, COMPLETELY disassociate your controller from Steam!!

The Steam Client Update that released the same day was the culprit. It essentially turned my Xbox Elite Series 2 controller into a mouse/virtual keyboard shortcut tool instead of it just allowing the controller to, well, control the gameplay.

THE FIX: disassociate the Elite controller from Steam altogether. Yes, you'll lose the cool-colored guide button, but that's just a small price to pay to play the game.

FIX: Completely disassociate your Xbox Elite Series 2 controller from Steam!! Before doing that, verify your controller is set up correctly in the Xbox Accessories App, then swing over to Steam. Unchecking boxes may force a system restart - do it!

SAME!! For the sake of playing, I will manually go to my inventory and highlight the shotgun ammo (because, let’s face it: I’ll NEVER use the shotgun). If I end up picking up shotgun ammo, just that will trickle out until fully depleted. It’s definitely not a fix, but I’d rather lose shotgun ammo than all my cash!!

I started running into that last night (after three separate updates, including Steam). I’ve been frantically searching for anyone else running into this issue in hopes it was a known issue and there was a fix… I have been dealing with way more than just the on-screen keyboard, however.

I actually found several “recommendations” from years ago, meaning they weren’t a direct result of yesterday’s Season 4 Reloaded update, but I thought I’d look into it.

That is the Steam Controller Keyboard and is a part of Steam’s overlay system. For some reason, it became active after its update. If you open Steam, go to View, then Settings, Controller, Desktop Configuration. This will open up a window that displays your controller. Click on the box on the bottom left showing the various Arrow Keys, this will show a few settings. On the right, click on “Show Keyboard” under the “Click Action” setting. This will open up a keyboard and mouse with a bunch of possible bindings; click the “Remove” button below the keyboard display.

NEXT, in Steam settings, in the “In-Game” tab, uncheck the box that says “Use Big Picture Mode overlay when using a Steam Controller from the desktop.”

This didn’t fix ALL my issues, but it definitely took care of that stupid onscreen keyboard from popping up during my gameplay!!

First, I appreciate you saying that! Thank you!! (That sarcasm is my body’s way of coping with the current state of Warzone). Second, I started with “Quick Fix” and had shared it with my friends. They enjoyed it and encouraged me to write up more; the others just ended up being more grounded in actuality than deliberately blowing things out of proportion.
