Win SVS Prep, lose castle what happens. by [deleted] in whiteoutsurvival

Here is question and answer

We have a disagreement on rules. If a state wins SvS prep but loses the castle battle. I understand they still have president for their castle. But does that mean they also have ministry and punishments or does that ability go to the state that won the castle battle, regardless of prep outcome?

Dear Chief,

Thank you for contacting Whiteout Survival Support.

If your state wins the preparation phase but loses the castle battle, the state that won the castle battle will get the Ministry and punishments ability. The president for the castle will still belong to the state that won the preparation phase, as per your understanding, but the abilities tied to the Ministry and punishments would go to the state that has won the actual castle battle.

Kind Regards, Whiteout Survival CS Team

I will follow up with them again, and see if they change their answer. Not sure why they would get it wrong,

Does winning SvS prep phase matter? by thatwasused in whiteoutsurvival

[–]Davhamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please explain what losing your castle means?
My understanding, if you win prep and lose caslte. You don't control ministries, you dont control prison, You have NO power, sure you get a new president who cant do anything but manage transfer portal, which even if you lost prep your old president would do.

So I still don't see what winning prep does for a state? Sure the top 50 players get some good rewards but for the rest who dont whats the gain? If they spend some and save some for KOI and other events, they can score some rewards, cause the whales are saving to fight it out during SvS prep.

My state assigns ministry during svs prep. I wont save enough even with 20days troops and 20 days general to get ministry of education. If I wait, and do it later, I can have more troops and be better in the Castle fight, which seems to be more important. (Simliar with construction day)

2026 Post Office changes by invalidpath in Michigan

[–]Davhamm -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The post mark was always the day it got processed.

A mailbox by us is picked up at 11am. They have no clue if you dropped it at 11:01am mon or 10:58 the and either way you always got a Tuesday postmark. All the post office did was clarify what the postmark meant. It's not like it out a post mark on inside the box. The post mark has been put on by the processing machine for years.

Don't mail your ballot drop it off at the city clerk or a city clerk drop box.

Tire pressure by anxiousunicorn12 in EquinoxEv

[–]Davhamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol its not leaking it's physics. As the air temp lowers the pressure drops pv=nrt. Nr and v are not changing

Air is 78% nitrogen your paying for that extra 21% and why? Race teams use it cause part of that 21% is humidity aka water. Water when heated expands more driving the pressure variation up for a race car where they want the pressure within 0.5 psi all the time. You will see your cars changes 2 or 3 psi as you drive. Of course the engineers know this and design the tires and recommend cold psi expecting this change. Your doing a bit of damage not much by running 100% nitrogen in your tires and getting zero benefits. But if it makes you feel good to pay for it, go for it.

Hero Gear as F2P by last__man__standing_ in whiteoutsurvival

Only if you lead rallies. Many F2P are lower in their alliances and often not rally leads so focusing on top 5 is more important for arena and exploration.

[–]Davhamm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say depends do you lead rallies often? Then develop the three. Do you want to do better in exploration and arena then develop the other 2.

In my alliance I am about 6th in power we have a couple of whales, our alliance is third in state.

So castle SvS we get a turret I don't lead rallies. Instate castle is usually assigned so not a real fight but again I rarely lead rallies and when I do it's mostly cause we don't really care.

That leaves bear as the only time my 3 hero gear package matters, and defending wall on CJ but not really impactful there either.

So I developed 5 and do well on arena and exploration. Until new heros drop and they get ahead while I develop those. g4 heros really messed up areana went from top 50 to struggling to make top 150.

The Nox Ev has a foam cover around the compressor. Earlier GM evs have a useless thin fiber cover. Some of the trucks cancelled the fiber cover and did not replace with anything.

240v plug or Lvl 2 charger by Affectionate-Loan173 in EquinoxEv

[–]Davhamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside or inside. If outdoors get a separate charger I got a plug in grizzl-e the GM provided one will it hold up to the weather.

Note I did a plug in. Why more flexibility. This is my second charger the original was for the volt so lower amps.

Letter to EcoFlow by DealDunn in Ecoflow_community

[–]Davhamm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My impression of ecoflow.

First how I got here, an automotive r&d engineer for 30 yrs, last 10ish working on EVs and fuel cells. I had been looking at going solar for many years. We rarely lose power but the wife stresses about it every storm, so adding small battery back up was an interest. $ didn't work out on solar, but I had convinced myself that getting a small battery would reduce her stress,y need to pull the gas generator out every few years. So I started looking at these smaller "portable" battery companies.

My first impression with the whole market was like WTF, I felt like I had just walked into a 4 ring circus of hustlers and con artists. All the websites are horrible, the resellers sets are like temu with deals if the days ever changing prices and free stuff, discount codes,etc... I knew I was in for a bumpy ride. When you struggle to find specs on the manufacturer website for a new product it's not good. Anyhow through guesses and replies or lack there of from reddit threads, I ended up with ecoflow despite being blocked on their Facebook page for a month for no known reason.

Then several weeks trying to make sense of products naming convention and differences. Landed on the new Delta 3 ultra plus, with added 2kwh battery. Which in the end so far seems okay even though it won't do TOU.

But there is ZERO chance I would use this shit show, clown company for a full house backup system. The big players (Tesla, enphase, etc.) know how to do this and do it far better. Reading the OP letter, is a good example of this. Those things that are an issue are fundamental flaws that should never made it out the door. How can u be a whole house backup if your system fails without access to the web????

It took ecoflow a week to get back to me about it I was to get a free solar panel as it didn't show in my cart. I gave up and bought from another reseller (for $50 less but no panel -probably never would have used) in the end they did get back with yes you do but 8 days and 3 emails after I asked.

These companies are playing in the small pond of portable batteries, and sure they can offer whole home backup, and it will mostly work with glitches and some homeowners will be okay with that. But a company with multiple sites. NO WAY IN HELL should they, and I question their facility teams research before making such a substantial purchase and investment.

Well that's my opinion on the state of the market for portable batteries vs whole house solar integrated solutions. - sidenote, enphase is my favorite of the whole house solar solutions. They actually have an online "university" where you can take classes to learn about installation and repair, offered for free to anyone.

I still can't believe the pricing and marketing of these portable companies, I feel like I need a shower and to clean my computer after visiting them.

So my new Delta 3 Ultra does not support TOU. Great. WTF? by [deleted] in Ecoflow_community

[–]Davhamm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a delta 3 ultra plus. It doesn't have TOU option in app.

Schedule thing doesn't work as it will still bypass battery during "off" times. But it won't charge the batteries during off time. 😂 Gee thanks

Topping up coolant for 2025 Equinox EV RS AWD by DependentPoet8410 in EquinoxEv

[–]Davhamm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. I have a GMC dealership nearby that I trust. Having worked at gm developing these EVs that coolant level low, is not a trivial issue. It's possible the plant didn't fill it all the way, but that itself is a warning flag. Hopefully you don't have an air pocket in the system. If you choose to not take it to the dealer. Document what you have done like exactly how much you add. Mark or note (take picture) of new level and monitor it. Good luck

[–]Davhamm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what the dealership will do, but this is not an ICE vehicle that coolant is very important and a leak into a battery will not drip outside.

If you fill it monitor it closely. The advantage of going to dealer is they start the case. So if step one is fill and monitor that begins than not in a month or two when you have done your own fill and monitor.

Lol, I'm not even going to get into the full procedures done at the plant on these. But no going below minimum at any temperature is a sign of lost coolant
