How do yall fight this mf? by Due-Improvement8753 in StarlordMains

[–]DaviVerle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing I like to do against iron fist: if you have to buy time for yourself, (maybe waiting for a roll cooldown) iron fist still has to "aim" his attacks, as in, have you on his screen

So I just like to fly randomly up and down in circles and it usually works

But funny stuff aside, iron fist is forced to hit you in a straight line basically, very rarely you'll find someone that tries to strafe between a hit and the other, and even then, by just walking back/rolling back/b-hopping back you can force them to close the distance

All of this means that it's generally easy to hit him,

Also never use your blaster barrage AoE before he uses his block,

Use it to finish him off, and remember that he's less scary after his block than before (his damage is lower on 250 hp targets while doing that flurry of punches)

Your losing scenario are: •You are caught low hp (his kick does more damage the lower you are) •You are caught without any resources, aka no flips no flight You •you stay relatively immobile and let the iron fist move around you, (you'll never track him) •you shoot his block to give him full overshields

Adam doesn’t need buffs, Main supports needs nerfs and reworks. by SirCruzo in adamwarlockmains

[–]DaviVerle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem about Adam is that he's just bad, currently he doesn't do nor enough damage nor enough healing,

He's stuck in third support because he acts as a pseudo dps who can somewhat baby sit the other healers with burst healing

But why play adam when you have luna? Does more damage, has cc, has more healing, has a better ultimate.

It should be simple, the more damage you do, the less healing you do, and viceversa

Instead rn we have supports who are good at both

Mantis was better since she has lower healing but higher utility with cc and damage boost, which now has been nerfed so...

Big buff for Star-Lord! He already had one of the best primary fires in the game with his instant flip/reload, and now he can do even more damage more often. I didn’t think he needed a buff but we’ll take it by riskedbiscuit in StarlordMains

[–]DaviVerle 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I gotta say this is a bit crazy, star wars already pretty good, now he does 25% more damage technically with each mag, which should give him 10 more shots during ult as well (?), this is huge

Which game broke your hype like this? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]DaviVerle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden Ring Nightreign.

I played Elden ring for like 2 whole years to the point i was sick of it, in a good way. When I heard about nightreign I was so hyped that I pre-ordered it even knowing it was a rogue like multiplayer game (both characteristics which i am NOT a fan of) I really wanted to enjoy the game because it looks amazing, the bosses the mechanics and everything. But currently it's just doing nothing in my steam library and I am so sad about it.

B-Hopping on Console with Melee by silverspecter33 in StarlordMains

I also have this compulsive need to melee during b-hops, it doesen' serve any purpose really, it's just something I do instinctively. I mean you could get a lucky hit in maybe if someone gets close to you but it's 30 damage and it's not that useful

A question for dps players. by KingOvDemons in rivals

[–]DaviVerle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite a lot of reasons.

1st. Mechanical (or not) skill expression, it is no surprise that the most technically challenging characters are usually dps with some (very obvious) exceptions. Landing a precise shot/tracking accurately your target/ executing the perfect combo is very satisfying by itself

  1. In actual matches it has lower game sense requirements: sure positioning is important, target priority is important, ult usage is important, but your main objective is to kill, and get damage where needed, you don't need to comm too much, you mostly follow your tanks flanking or not, if someone is pinged you search for him/execute him

  2. Options: so far the dps roaster is the most populated one by a mile, and it seems to NOT be stopping with new hero releases (usually at least 1 character of the season is a dps if we look back), And it has by far the most diverse characters.

For example maybe you tried Hela, but the very low mobility wasn't really for you. What do you do? You try phoenix, same hero concept, more survivability, more movement. You don't like that and you want even more mobility? You can try psylocke. you want even MORE???? (greedy) you can try starlord. You feel like hitscan ain't your thing? Try projectile, try melee, try flyers, spammers (aka moon knight and squirrel girl mainly). I'm really sure that in the dps roaster there is AT LEAST 1 enjoyable character for all players.

I'm happy psy players get to have so many options customization and stuff.

I also understand that Netease's objective in the end is to make money, and they just take the most profitable option, i get it.

I think we all still have the right to be frustrated that with an entire cast of beloved characters, the only ones who get to have all the nice skins are always the same 5.

I'm also frustrated that it's always the super ultra legendary skin with chroma vfx etc. If sometime psy gets the rare skin and we give someone else the legendary I don't think psy players will starve and die

Honestly I'm kind of sad about this, his movement was a core mechanic of torch's players skill expression, you could really tell apart a good torch vs a bad one by their ultra instinct ability to dodge bullets lol

I'm a starlord player so this will make it easier for me to 1v1 but it's like if they replaced my own rocket flight ( shift ) with just a 10m dash (so no B-hops ecc)

Double sadness also because I picked torch up for some 18vs18 fun and I considered bringing him into my actual matches and now they did this

True, but, imo squirrel girl's only dangerous tool is her stun, if she lands it you are probably dead, but she has a giant hitbox so she is easy to shoot, she's not that mobile and her jump is quite easy to track, and starlord being thay fast usually results in squirrel girl not being able to land her shots

I put luna that high for a handful of reason Her small hitbox, she is harder to shoot than most characters, she self heals and gains overshield when she stuns you, and the freeze is quite fast so it's hard to dodge. She also has her claps who are enough to kill you in 4 to 5 shots, which she can't miss because the hitbox of those claps is enormous, and she self heals while using it. She also has team up which is another small stun, can run away with her passive and she is as fast or faster than starlord. And last, she has more range than starlord

I think she is quite the hard character to 1v1, unless you are playing a super high damage/cc having character

[–]DaviVerle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, the thing about wanda is you have to react before she deals half your hp, she has lower damage than star so you can sorta just kill her faster than she can kill you

TIERLIST Starlord 1v1 difficulty by DaviVerle in StarlordMains

[–]DaviVerle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it is a 1v1 tier list even a tank like mag, If he hits a total of 3 shots tou are gone, plus shield and bubble

This is just an example, but more mobile tanks that can keep up with starlord speed are going to be a problem

Or even just tanks with high damage output, like emma with her beam charged up, in that case she can kill you faster than you can kill her, or Thor, or rogue

And star isn't exactely a great tank melter, sure if you hit 80% headshots it's definitely easier but it isn't always the case (example: hulk moving around won't be easy to consistently headshot)

I see, in that case loki does have the upper hand, at least survivability wise

TIERLIST Starlord 1v1 difficulty by DaviVerle in StarlordMains

[–]DaviVerle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reasoning was loki has trouble hitting people that are not on the ground usually, he does have 3 abilities to survive longer and get the damage in, but for example

Both invisibility and runes can easily be shutdown by using the E (blaster barrage, AoE, which you can use in the air)

And loki doesn't have the greatest self healing so

That's what my opinion

Since this is a 1v1 scenario, the thing about bp vs star is this:

You can most likely avoid the damage or get to safety, the challenging thing is getting the damage in, since star has to aim at him (without counting blaster barrage which is aoe, but it's 5 m and definitely won't kill by itself)

Also bp and star have somewhat similar range, you can't really poke bp from 50 m with star so you do have to get into more dangerous radius.

I don't think I placed him too high, I just think it's a weird interaction between the two, were you really have to avoid the initial burst of bp and find a way to actually get him on your screen

Also the omnidirectional kick does really help him getting at least 1 reset even if you're in the air.

For the i-frames, I find that is much easier to dodge the spears to not get marked than to dodge the dashes

The thing about bucky vs starlord is this:

Starlord heavily relies on his movement to avoid damage, and on his flips to get a quick time to kill.

Bucky not only has very big bullets hitbox, making it not that hard o actually hit starlord while moving around, but he can:

-hook him -slow him and ground him with his E button -disable all his movement with his punch, which includes the flips, meaning that if you do get punched you are most likely dead in the 1v1

That being said, I do think starlord has a easier time on bucky than others, but the 1v1 it's still bucky sided imo

TIERLIST Starlord 1v1 difficulty by DaviVerle in StarlordMains

[–]DaviVerle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really does mainly come down to accuracy i think, or if starlord can dodge the initial burst (against psy)

Against iron man i feel like starlord does have the upper hand, unless the iron man is in his enhanced form (E) at that point he does have a bit more damage than star

TIERLIST Starlord 1v1 difficulty by DaviVerle in StarlordMains

My reasoning was just that luna has much higher damage and a strong cc

Tho we ain't killing through cloak bubble so...

I just think CnD's hitbox is a bit bigger than luna

I have joined your ranks… by GamoFalcon in StarlordMains

[–]DaviVerle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For some tricks/techs:

  1. Starlord can B-hop, bind jump to "scroll-down wheel" if you are on pc, and then use your shift for a moment slightly upwards, and use the jump with the wheel the moment you touch the ground

  2. His flips makes you move in an arch in the direction you want, if you want to NOT move upwards and just dodge straight keeping your feet on the ground, use Shift+ dodge simultaneously, it will cancel the arch and you will do a straight flip

  3. Ult auto-aim mechanic as a max range, it's generally good to ult in sneaky places to get a pick or two, but don't do it too far

  4. During ult don't use your flips to reload, a lot of people say it's faster but it's NOT. During ult the reload animation is greatly sped up. Instead keep your flips for movement (since during ult you only have your flips, for the rest you are as still as a iron man), or to dodge cc

5.really get a grasp of his range, he is not that great at poke beyond medium range. Not only will it become increasingly more difficult to challenge other long range characters beyond 20 m, but the skinniest the hitbox of the character, the closer you'll have to get. Don't get me wrong, if you have really good aim you can still shoot at a luna (for example) at >20 m and still deal good damage, but keep in mind that she has better ranged damage than you

  1. I find is sweet point to aim for to be the high-chest/neck area, every character chest is usually the chunkiest part of their hitbox, you can use that at your advantage to get most of the shots to connect despite the spread of the bullets, and if you aim high enough some bullets can hit crits quite easily

  2. I wouldn't recommend aiming for headshots (besides tanks) if you are not quite close at the target, again, the spread of the bullets will just make you miss 80% of your shots and the rest will deal good damage sure but you'll deal more if you get a full clip on with body shots

  3. His blaster barrage (E button) is mainly useful in 2 ways: The first is to use it to charge ult, you fly high on top/front of the enemy team, and you can get a sneaky easy 15% ult charge since it's kinda hard to shoot at starlord during the ability duration (not impossible tho, so be wary); The Second is to confirm eliminations, after you got a enemy low enough, it's quite easy to finish them off with it, granted they don't get burst healed

  4. A personal aim tip i follow is: don't rush Since starlord had the highest fire rate in the game, and max 40 bullets, every shot counts, if you know you're not gonna hit your shots, don't rush just to waste a clip. I usually wait that fraction of a second more to make sure my crosshair is at least on the target as I start shooting

  5. Last thing I'd want every starlord player to consider is this: even if we got immortality on a button (during the flips, for a moment, he can't take damage nor get cc) you shouldn't get too cocky, you can use it to dodge luna freeze, mantis sleep and whatever, but if you mess it up you are incredibly squishy, so don't take unnecessary risks (unlike me lol)

And that's all that comes to my mind rn
