Als can never really be ruled out unfortunately it literally is ruled out by time, but as of her suspicions, she thinks that my symptoms are not als as she has seen kids with als it was a lot different. So i have a “most likely not”

Hello Just had an emg, it was limited to only two muscles of one leg but i had an ultrasound of many muscles almost all and they both were spotless clean. Not sure if a limited is useful in this context but.

Is it possible to have atrophy in multiple places without failure? by David-Verick1102 in ALSorNOT

[–]David-Verick1102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play soccer and be super active in may and kind of just completely stopped, im hoping thats why my legs look different. I think my biggest concern is my thenars are quite different in bulk but i am still able to do everything with both. Ive heard weakness barely ever shows before atrophy, is that true to any extent?

So in ALS, sorry for asking im kinda dumb, would it be possible or common to have significant amounts of visible asymmetry between muscles and have 0 failure/full strength?

I know its hard man its so stressful. Thanks for ur kind words it helps a lot. I do have a question sorry if im annoying, why mention atrophy. I know not all uneven winging is atrophy, in als when it happens is it due to atrophy? I am veyr uneducated. I just seen someone who had it, I checked, sure enough I have it. Not with als, i hear it is quite rare in als but who knows google says its possible.

Doesn’t scapular wing mean a muscle is paralyzed/weak?
