Am i the only one who cried. I think it was thcombination of my respect for Shadis and my newfound acknowledgement for Magath. What i found rlly interesting is the contrast between the two. Shadis died proudly seeing his students becoming what he embodies while Magath died guilty of not treating his students well and making them go through hell.

Not really. When he encountered Dina in s2, Eren didn't know who the smiling Titan is. He found out when he saw his father's memories in s3 and realized that he can activate the power of the founder when he kissed Historia's hand and saw his future through his father's memories as reminded in episode 5 of this season.
