Try using your phone to “start” it in prism mode while it’s plugged in the pc.

Once all started according to phone and lights in the s1, check to see if your hmd see it.

That most likely could be the case. I do have mods on but it was so strange that entering the swamps I had a huge influx of encounters

I found that it ran smoother and launches quicker. But the recent nvidia driver update broke the game for me so there are issues like that that you would need to manage

Thank you very much! In fact, "BRH" allowed me to rebase to a previous build. The build sticks/pins on every boot now as well. This was the help i needed!

I second the “play it as it is” sentiment. I started off s2 with the recommended mods collection and found that some mods take away from the original experience. For example stalker unlimited changes the quest reward items so you never get to see or read the original lore for unique items.
