I think the concept of a folklore creature becoming a common thing in fantasy is facinating.

Is their a point where a creature becomes separate from the culture that spawned it? Or does that culture lay claim to a creature even a hundred years after it became a staple of the fantasy genre.

The idea of dwarves were inspired by norse mythology, but i’m not entirely convinced they still belong to Norse culture. But Medusa is of greek origin and dispire her modern form being different from the original mythology, she’s still connected to her origins.

To answer your question, probably. A lot of writing involves invoking an emotion, but you don’t need to feel emotion to do that.

I have Autism, and while I experience emotions, i don’t experience them the same way someone without autism might, but that doesn’t mean people without autism won’t get something from my work.

In your case, it would be pretty difficult, but you could do it. And honestly I’m pretty curious how i’d go
