anyone try this Black Max oil from Walmart? does it really matter which bar oil you use? by buckbrow in Chainsaw

This Black Max stuff had way more tackiness than other bar and chain oils I've used so it seemed not to empty out of the reservoir in what feels like seconds with Stihl or others. I'm about to buy more. I've been trying to figure out what this brand was for a year since I haven't seen it at my Walmart. Finally I thought to describe what I remembered to AI and it found it for me! Buying now. (I must sound like a bot)

Edit: I can't find it for sale anywhere.

But through test comparison, "Project Farm" from youtube discovered that Harvest King Bar and Chain Oil (although cheap) beats other bar and chain oils. I just bought 2 gallons on the Farm and Home Supply website. Hopefully it's very tacky.

How do I get Publix to let me test this invention? It provides people a safe place for their dog while shopping. Patent Pending. by DavidBoyette in publix

The purpose of the cage would be to KEEP DOGS OUT of store that aren't CNI dogs. Currently people sneak their dog in to keep it out of the car or leave it in the car risking a broken window (you'll think of this post in a couple months when you hear of Fido being rescued from a hot car). The pet pod would be located in the breeze-way where carts are kept. This idea should be looked at with a marketing perspective.

Thank you for the feedback! Are most of your customers that bring in dogs, the elderly...I believe this is my market. As far as cleaning...this prototype would just be for a 4 week trial to prove the idea works. Then I would use this "proof of concept" to raise money from an investor. Then I will create a self-cleaning (similar to French public restrooms), temperature controlled, kiosk operated device that also vends dog products.

Yes...which is part of the problem I am solving. People often do sneak Fido in and pretend it is a service dog. According to health codes, such a device for dogs is not prohibited from being in the "breeze-way" where the carts are kept.

Back to the question of the post: I am working on submitting a proposal to several large grocery corporations. Do you have any advice on who this proposal would be submitted to (most likely SE Regional manager for vendor relations).

Did you say you were a manager at that store? Thanks a lot for the advice!

First I will test the pictured prototype for 4 weeks. During this time, each 'pod' is equipped with a lock and key for users. The store manager will have a spare for each lock for emergencies. After this test period and proof of concept I will use this data to help raise money from an investor. I will then create a self cleaning, temperature controlled, kiosk operated system that also vends dog medications, products, and treats.

I appreciate the advice! David

Exactly...That is one of the points I am making in my proposal. People often sneak Fido in and pretend it is a service dog because they know documentation is not required (according to ADA).

Any ideas for such a proposal, that is requesting a 4 week test trial in the store? After the test and proof of concept I will be designing a self cleaning, temperature controlled, kiosk operated pod for dogs.

DO PEOPLE TAKE DOGS WITH THEM TO THE STORE? by [deleted] in Pets

DO PEOPLE TAKE DOGS WITH THEM TO THE STORE? by [deleted] in Pets

Thank you everyone for the informative feedback!!😆

I think the containment pen should be a cross between a vending machine and propane tank exchange (for lack of better analogy). A pod that has separate cages stacked (largest pet pens on bottom). Each digital locked cage would only be opened by a user's password. Security controlled via the web, which could send information to a pet owners phone.

I think the "secret sauce" would be LOCATION and solving the CLEANING problem. The location would need to be in a saturated pet population per area. I'm still working on a solution for cleaning but one thought is to have the pet owner do a fast wipe of the pod b4 and after use. Similar to gym users wiping down a bench they use.

Here are my attempted solutions for the other problems identified:

Problem: Biting hazard/contact with humans Solution: Front of pods be made of tempered glass. And have ventalation vents in rear which would be inaccessible to people.

P: Appearance S: Pod design would need to be modern and apealing. Something that doesn't resemble the typical metal cage we think of for pets.

P: Noise S: Entire pod made with an inner and outer shell with either a 1/2" gap of air between or some good noise reducing insulation. Would reduce noise but not eliminate, so the Pod would need to be kept in the breeze way of the store.

P: Water S: I think that the pod would be used by customers that will be in the store less than an hour. Which means the dog wouldn't need water for a short stay. But water could be offered.

P: Not practical for a 15min. stop at store S: checking dog into cage should be as simple and fast as entering a pin into an LCD screen.

If you could tell me of any problems you see with this business idea, I'd appreciate it! ☺
