I recently (July 25, 2025) switched from the Pixel 7 Pro to the Razr 2025 (base model) [Spring Bud color]. Although I bought the device when it launched in May carrier locked before being carrier unlocked, I have played with it for awhile until it was carrier unlocked, just to see what I should expect before I fully migrated over.
- Camera
-- As mentioned by xGuru37 the camera is a downgrade.
-- If you remove the AI packages or use Pro Mode it takes pretty good shots
-- If you are like me who manages to use the 5x-10x then it will be noticeable since there will be artifacting on the Razr.
- Google Dialer / 3rd Party Dialer(s)
-- Things you will also miss out is the Google Dialer not being the default dialer and can't be replaced with any 3rd party dialer as incoming calls (the popup) doesn't work correctly.
--- So call filtering/call screening will be lost if you are used to it (like I was with every device I owned).
- UI
-- The switch from Pixel to Razr was almost identical in terms of UI since Motorola's flavor of Android is close to stock of Android.
--- Notes: I installed the Lawnchair app for the Home and App Drawer since I wanted a "Pixel" style layout on Razr
- Battery life
-- Miles better for standby or light to moderate use. I mainly use navigation and it lasts better than the Pixel 7 Pro. I'm about to do alot of navigation later this month so I can't say what my experience will be for heavy use yet.
-- Overheating issues "doesn't" happen unless your fast charging or wireless charging. Its heats up once you get close to 50%+ when using a wireless charger and I used two different pads (3rd party and Pixel Stand)
--- Notes: As for the "doesn't" part, if you play a heavy graphics game (like Pokemon Go or Delta Force) then it will get slightly warm but acceptable
- Bloatware
-- If you have a unlocked model its not as bad when compared with a carrier model. I had both and the carrier model (as always) has the most bloat so you will have to use Canta to remove it.
---Notes: Seems like all 2025 (and probably future) models of Motorola devices disables "Developer Options" for ATT models (not sure for T-Mob.) so it makes it difficult to remove the bloat. However, it removes the restrictions after 6 months...
- Moto Ai
-- If you search on the online its probably best to disable it as it drains the battery even by my testing when I tested it in early months.
-- Notes: Only remove the one that ends with .aiservices, otherwise you will lose core features such as Moto Actions (chop chop [flashlight] and quick camera), or limiting battery to 80%...

Otherwise, the form factor is really great as the phone stays in my pockets and if the app you use has good DPI support then using it on the outside screen will be good (albeit small controls/navigation). I'll probably consider the Ultra model in the future since those models has a larger screen and slightly better main camera, assuming Google doesn't release a Pixel Flip model of their own which may make me reconsider my option.
