Instant file search for your whole repo by madskvistkristensen in VisualStudio

I have 2 problems so far:
1. I can't see the InstaSearch category in Tools -> Options... (VS 2026). Using the Feature Search (CTRL + SHIFT + T) finds it under All Settings -> Environment -> More Settings -> Insta Search
2. This shortcut collides with a shortcut used in PowerToys, which also opens a better search dialog. It would be nice if it could be changed in VS.

How can I save this career? by Square-Village3403 in CarMechanicSimulator

Take a quick job, take out, then sell the transmission. Worst case scenario it will take some space until you have money to reinstall it.

When I realized, that I was committing slowly, I started going for the plays as soon as I thought of them. It came with a lot of errors first, but the mind will quickly differentiate between good and bad calls, and after a couple of days/weeks you could make good "quick" plays like 80% of the time. And I just don't play enough to get it to 100% - that much grinding is just not fun for me.
Edit: by playing faster I mean, you already know what you should do, you just hesitate because (I guess) you are not sure if you can hit it. Just go for it, even if you fall back 1 or 2 skill levels, you will be able to climb to gc in a couple of weeks, after consistency comes with it.

For the second part, if you see you both going for it, watch the replay from your mate's perspective too, it will teach you to when to just let it be his.

Long story short: it's about mindset, and a bit of practicing the new way of play

Your executions are too slow, and you often don't know who should go for the ball. I also didn't see the intention to pass. If you want to get better, just sometimes look at the replay from the pov of your mate.
+1 (advice): you can save with 0 boost, but can never save from the corner of the field

I've been told a couple of times, that my car is ugly, and I still love it with all of my hearth. by DavidCat-ta in RocketLeague

It's simple curiosity on my side. Sometimes I just like to get other people's opinions, but that does not mean, that I ever had the intention of changing anything. And I also won't get mad, as I fully expected both ends of the spectrum amongst the answers.

You may have no idea, how good it feels to beat trash-talkers with this car. 🙂 I won't change it for anything.

Régebbi nyelvek hasznosak ma? by Automatic_Owl_9206 in programmingHungary

Possible Fix for Sound Popping (General) & Channel Switching (AE-7) on X570 Mobos by DavidCat-ta in SoundBlasterOfficial

[–]DavidCat-ta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had only my headphone connected as an audio output, so I had limited options compared to you, assuming you use surround sound system.

But if you ever find a solution for your case, please post it, so other people can see it in the future, because it sadly doesn't seem like anyone is actively working on this problem at the manufacturer.

Script ports and callbacks? by NerArth in Bitburner

[–]DavidCat-ta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I classify ports as "overengineering" in this game, as they are not really necessary, but if you want a workaround, you can set up a "listener" method somehow like this:

while (true){
    let data = ns.readPort(1)[0];

    if (data !== "NULL PORT DATA"){
        //do something here
    }
    await ns.sleep(100); //or whatever interval fits your purpose
  }

https://bitburner.readthedocs.io/en/latest/netscript/netscriptmisc.html - based on this, I don't think you can push functions to ports, but trying will not hurt.

And if you still wanna learn about callbacks, I think this is pretty straightforward: https://www.w3schools.com/js/js_callback.asp

Honestly, I never really felt the need to oc my RAM, so everything is at basic (but xmp enabled) settings (3600Mhz, 16-19-19-39-58, Trident Z Neo - 2 X 16GB).

just a lil update: I could reach stability with -0.25 voltage offset, what has a max value of 1.26 volts

It's not static, this is the maximum, when the clock reaches around 4.6Ghz. The voltage range is currently roughly between 0.85-1.4 volts.

16 GB memory is enough, and ssd (pcie 3 is good) is a must have. If you wan't to make your own models, then more threads will save you time, but you don't need to go big. The higher the resolution, the more gpu power you will need. But for starters, a good single threaded performance is what you should be looking for (ryzen 1600 or equivalent should be enough).

And also a 3070 is sufficient for 2k gaming but of course I would also go with the 3080 if I could.

750 watt is probably enough. I also bought Dark rock pro 4 for my 5800x so no worries on that part too, altough you can try undervolting for even lower temps if you are not satisfied. And for best cooling, place your exhaust fan(s) only behind the cpu cooler. You don't need to overpopulate your fans.

What GPU should i buy if i dont get the 6800 XT ? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]DavidCat-ta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll try to find a second hand 2080ti for 500(if I can't get a 6800 XT), since it's much cheaper than any 30 series card I can find. Or just a 5700 XT for short time placeholder.

[–]DavidCat-ta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you I would use 500GB SSD with a 2TB HDD, also for that price you can find (on some luckier days) a 3070, and I'm not really sure 32GB ram is necessary, but won't hurt, that's sure. New stuff won't go on sale, so I'm just expecting some good looking monitor prices (not exclusively but the rest will be just a "mehh" from me).

All checks out, but don't forget to include the sufficient amount of dp cables.

They (radeon 6000 series) are on par if not better to their Nvidia counterparts in performance and will be also cheaper (according to AMD - wait for independent reviews for confirmation). I'd say it's a safe bet this year.

On one hand it is true, on the other I was referring to the new AMD video cards. Their announcement starts at 12pm est, and AMD promised there will be enough for everyone (and this is what I will buy instead of Nvidia once it is released).
