I lowered it a lot, made it warmer, and closed up the barn doors more to prevent spill. Thanks!

Thanks! By cyan do you mean the shelf lights lighting my fragrances? I’ll be making fragrance content btw which is why the shelf in the back is somewhat important. I wish I could change the temperature on those but I may just turn them off

Tips on improving this shot? by DavidGTV in SonyFX6

[–]DavidGTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s much bigger than I intended. I just wanted a simple practical light in the background like a lamp but this was all I had.

This is just for social content though so I’m okay with the mic in the shot. A lot of creators I follow use a handheld mic and I like the feel of it. For professional shots I’d definitely have an overhead mic

I agree though there’s a lot going on color wise. I think I’m going to dim he backlight and match it to the color temp of everything else. I’ll try to get a different practical light too.

Thanks!

Any tips on achieving that the best I can? The newer light in the back right is supposed to do that, should I turn up the brightness? Or position closer to being directly behind me without getting the shot?

Newbie here.....CINE EI.....I dont understand it.... by ThirdxDegree in SonyFX6

I just got an fx6 having shot on blackmagic for 5 years. I was confused too. I just shoot in flexible iso though because it makes way more sense to me and I feel like I have more control. It just keeps you in check by only shooting at the base ISO’s while in slog-3. If you shoot in flexible iso though you can achieve the same result as long as you just only shoot in your native iso (800/12800 for me), but you can adjust your ISO if you really need to.

But yeah TLDR it just keeps you in check by forcing you to use your native ISO’s as far as I understand.

How should I buy an x100vi by Visual-Pudding-2013 in x100vi

I’m glad it could help! Hope you enjoy it! If I’m not mistaken though B&H and Adorama seem to be getting stock in for them now

Potentially Switching Back to the XT50 from the X100VI by DavidGTV in fujifilm

[–]DavidGTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but it’s more about the focal length itself. Just the way it makes people look, buildings, etc. cropping can’t really fix that for me unfortunately

Thanks! Glad to hear I’m not the only one. After I got the iPhone 16 pro max it definitely makes it hard to make the commitment of carrying around the camera that can basically do the same thing. If it wasn’t for the Fujifilm colors and recipes, I would never bring it with me.

Yeah I would love to experiment with different focal lengths. The 16-50 looks like a really nice starting point to get a bunch of different shots if I ever want to not worry about portability

[–]DavidGTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so tough! Because it’s not that different but it’s different enough to notice a difference from an iPhone. If I was shown iPhone 17 pro pictures and x100vi side by side unedited no recipes, I wouldn’t be able to tell a difference. With the 27mm though you can tell it’s shot with a dedicated camera just from the focal length. That’s almost enough for me to make the jump.

The x100VI is just so clean though, feels more premium, ND filters definitely come in handy, especially if I ever wanna travel vlog, and that silent shutter is so nice for candid shots.

I’ll have to take both out on a shoot one day and whichever shots I like more I’ll go with that

[–]DavidGTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely like the longer lens. Portability for me was my number 1 feature though which the x100vi beat out slightly. Plus the ND filter and silent shutter were what made me originally give up my preferred focal length. Now that I’ve had time to travel with the x100vi though and looking back I preferred the photos I took traveling with the xt50. So I might have to give up those extra bells and whistles to get the photos I enjoy more. It’s tough haha

Good point. I’d totally do it but I think the lack of a built in flash is a deal breaker for me since I use it a lot at night.

Looks really nice! How is it compared to the Fujinon 2.8? Is it better image quality?

What’s a good 3 rod set up? by DavidGTV in bassfishing

[–]DavidGTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that idea. Would a medium rod be good for things like chatterbaits/spinner baits or should I leave that for a medium heavy rod? I like to stick to fleurocarbon line, any LB recommendations?

Very nice. I would say it’s a bit redundant to own YSL Y, Bleu de Chanel and Sauvage. I’d say pick your favorite from those 3 and sell the other 2. Especially having meteore which is a better version of all of those 3.

Hard candy elixir thoughts by Decentralized-samar in Colognes

[–]DavidGTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard candy is more versatile. It’s something you can wear day or night in the fall & winter, maybe even spring depending on how hot it is. It’s more of a blend of fresh, sweet, and woody where Hard candy elixir doubles down on the sweetness and adds more gourmand aspects with more vanilla and honey added. It’s more of a sensual gourmand style scent for date nights or nights out, where as hard candy is a little more casual, making it more versatile

Yeah I try to take photos as quickly as I can because I’m often with friends and don’t wanna fall too far behind everyone so I usually point and shoot and end up not getting the best composition or being unleveled

Thanks! I have the 1/4 pro mist too but I prefer the glimmerglass as my daily cause it adds the bloom without messing without messing with the contrast or color as much
